Had they kept going... An 1125 Uly would be pretty nice... |

Maybe but the engine would have to be built very differently. The Uly needs low end torque rather than high rpm horsepower. Personally, I would rather have seen a diesel engine in the thing. Gobs of torque, great economy and the engine would run forever. Easy maint. No spark plugs or ign system. etc. |

Detuned would be fine with me. More mileage on a tank. And liquid cooled would be ideal for AZ weather, as I ride all year. Can't wait for whatever EBR releases next |

I've seen that image a few times. I even considered making one a few times. Too many other projects and I can hear my wife saying 'You wanna do what?' has stopped me! |

speaking of water cooled, has anyone ever seen aftermarket water cooled heads for our motors? Being a common HD motor, I would think someone had made something like this. I know you should cool more than the heads(heads and cylinders) but the heads would be an easy swap out, then find a small radiator mounted up front with an electric inline pump.......hey couldn't hurt. And that's where all the heat is on our bikes, up top in the frame. Maybe one of you talented engineering metal drilling types out here could make a set to try?? Or what about the Vrod cylinders/heads? would those fit our bikes? Though that would be alot of water to cool.... |

I saw a post of some crazy guy welding a water jacket around the heads and cylinders and stuffing a radiator under the seat of a Firebolt. didn't save it, of course, but i think it was linked to from here. |

I saw this a few days ago & wondered if they could be put on a Buell (if they ever produce it)... http://www.cycleworld.com/2012/06/12/harley-davids on-headed-for-cooler-waters/ . |

Photos: http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f53/coolflames/F irebolt/?start=all Info: ""Oh wow, quite the project. I started mine wanting to address 2 issues- the heat which the engine throws at me when riding in town (Orlando FL) and also to even out the temps between the front and rear cylinders. Quite the Frankenstein- 1125...R thermostat, VW Passat electric water pump, Aprilia RSV1000 radiator cap, Kawasaki 1200 radiator, Nissan Quest brake reservoir (coolant overflow tank), 9" pusher fan." IIRC, Barker found this on Facebook a while back. I'd like to know if he's got it on the road yet. |

Would be easier to put ULY bits on a 1125cr I think... But cool project! |

I always wondered why H-D never jammed that Vrod engine into a full-boat touring rig. Or a sportster-like frame for that matter. I have always hated the Vrod's appearance and also the odd dragbike with ape-hangers ergos. Both the 1125 and Vrod engine would be great in some sort of "other" type of bike. |

Would be easier to put ULY bits on a 1125cr I think... That's been done too. There's a guy in the 1125 forum who adapted a Uly tail section and fairing to his 1125CR. It didn't appear to be that difficult of a project, so if you really want one, build it! I imagine it wouldn't take a lot more effort to install Uly forks and a taller rear shock if you wanted the Uly suspension. |
