I ordered my USB cable from xopti on Tuesday, it arrived today! Thanks for the quick shipment!

So the first thing I did was reset my TPS. Once the idle adjustment was backed out all the way TPS stayed at 1.7%. I reset it, adjusted the idle back to 5.1%, fired up the bike and Idle was right on.

AFV was at 84%. I am I correct in my understanding that this means that the bike is running rich and in closed loop mode the ECM is reducing the fuel to compensate? Or is it the opposite way?

Here is the front fuel map. Does anything look out of order here?

When you do your tps reset you should also reset the AFV. If the tps was off it could have caused the condition. Reset it and ride a few days and check the AFV again and see where it is. Did you reset the tps with a hot engine? This really helps to be accurate. If you have some mileage on the bike then it's even wise to check the butterfly to see if there's any buildup on the edges that would not allow it to fully close. Spray it clean with carb cleaner and check the tps again to see if it's different. If it is then ride the bike for 20 minutes and come back and set it again. You should be good to go at that point.

I did the TPS reset with the engine cold. The throttle body is clean inside. I'll take it for a ride today or tomorrow and get it hot and redo the TPS reset. I did reset the AFV at the same time. I went for like a 3 mile ride after that, probably didn't even get it up to full temp. AFV was 99 after that short ride.

You will need to do an extended ride at highway speeds. Around town will not suffice.

I didn't get the opportunity to do any real riding last weekend, maybe this weekend. I did get the chance to pull the front spark plug, and other than the electrode being rounded and the gap worn out to .047 it looked pretty good.

At 84 you were pulling 16% fuel over entire map. Suspect would be engine temp sensor telling bike it is cold all the time.

Wait, so an 84 means that the ECM is adding fuel to the map making it richer?

My opinion is it is giving you 84% of what the maps call for, in other words, it is leaning out the map.

Cold enrichment is done in another area of the ECM. When the bike is cold, the ECM is in open loop, or not modifying the maps based on O2 sensor information. This is because the O2 sensor will not send valid results until the bike is warmed up.

Once the bike is hot the ECM switches to closed loop, then it uses (and constantly recalculates) AFV.

Take a week (or more) and read xopti forums. You can read about logging the ECM, then feed the log into another application, that writes new maps for you.

Like others have said, reset the AFV to 100, then ride it a couple days/weeks and see which way it goes.

Oh, and one other thing. The engine has to be perfect (no air leaks, good plugs and wires, timing, proper fuel, etc) before tuning the ECM (changing maps). Any of the above can cause a rich/lean condition, so don't tune the ECM to a problem.

Towpro, what you said is what I was understanding from what I have read so far. Sometimes things aren't stated very clearly, but my understanding thus far is that an 84 means that I'm getting 84% of what the fuel map is calling for, meaning that the map is too rich for the bike, so the ecm is reducing fuel. I'm not going to start actually tuning until I get new plugs, I'm just trying to understand what's going on with it at this point, and to make sure that I fully understand ECMspy before I start making changes.

Well, the bike has a couple mods, and I live well above sea level (4500 feet/ 1363 meters), so basically I'm looking to tune for these factors and get a properly running bike. It seems to run fine within the closed loop, but outside of the closed loop it seems to not be quite right. It lacks power, most noticeably under 3/4 to full throttle. It bogs and lacks acceleration until past about 5000 rpms. At 3000 rpms it will actually accelerate faster at 1/2 throttle than at full throttle.
