Had a four day trip over Memorial day weekend with a couple of buds riding up from PA to see if we could find Maine.

We all met up at a Funck's diner in Anneville PA late friday morning. While there, there just seemed to be an endless stream of people stopping to talk when another Uly stops in, get to talk with him for a little (never did get your name).

Finally we get started and camp at Rudd Pond State park in NY. Next day we get through VT into NH where I hit 20k on my bike, we rode up Mt Washington (AWESOME).

Finish out the day pulling into Rockland Maine at 10 pm, as we're riding up RT 1 looking for a vacancy I'm thinking the roads up here are horrible. Find a place and then head down to the Denny's for some chow and realize that it's not the road, it's my bike. Next morning took the rear wheel off and yep the wheel bearing is shot on the belt side. Luckily I had just received bearings from American Sport Bike before the trip and had them along, but had no luck finding a place open to swap them out, we tried with the tools we had but could only get the bearing part way out. I booked the room for another night thinking I may be there until Tues morning, two of the guys needed to get home for their kids’ activities, the other guy wanted to stick around (he's retired). After lunch I was going to take a nap and just as I'm dozing off I remembered reading on here about a list of people that offer their services, grabbed my smart phone and did a search on this site and found the BRAN list and more importantly found someone less than an hour away. Got in touch with Wheelybueller who made quick work of the bearing replacement. Got the wheel back and installed in time for a late lobster dinner Sun night. Still made it home on Monday as planned, even if we did have to run highway the whole way.

THANKS A BUNCH RON!!! I will do my best to pay it forward.

Just another testament to the great community that makes up Bad Web.

That is AWESOME! Good on you, Wheelybueller, in spades!!! And thank you, slyuly, for giving the good man his props! Very, very cool. Buells are special and we need to stick together and support each other. Wheelybueller is a great example and HAS to be feeling good today, or at least he should be! : )

Mount Washington on a bike! Very cool. That's on my list. Did it in a car and it was super. On a bike - Unbelievable!

Slyuly, I realized after you left that I did forget to introduce myself. I think I was distracted by your bike and the Reuben sandwich I was going to eat. Glad you guys found Maine, hopefully you left it there for the rest of us to find one day. Kudos to Wheelybueller for making your return trip possible.

Train17, I'm pretty sure this trip cured me of riding with out a windshield, even though I like the way the wind feels with absolutely no buffeting, THE BUGS IN NEW ENGLAND SUCK!!!!! I needed some peel off shield protectors for the helmet.

We left Maine as it was, just a few less lobster and lobster ales.
