Hey Guys!

I have been meaning to intro myself on here. I have been trolling around long enough that I should have chimed in by now. I purchased a Black 06 Uly in April with 8300 miles on it and currently have it sitting at almost 13000 miles. Being somewhat paranoid I have done all the proactive maintenance on the bike that I have found on here and so far the bike has been great. I am hoping to have many enjoyable years on the bike. I really enjoy it. There are a few things I am aiming to change - but overall I am quite happy with the bike. This is my first 'dual purpose' or 'adventure tourer' bike (call it what you will) and I am anxious to really get to know it more. I come from the cruiser world and dirt biking world so this should be a fun new twist for me.

If any of you are in Utah or neighboring states and want to do a Uly ride - let me know. I love to hit the road and make new riding friends.

I just returned from a 1000 mile Southern Utah ride a week ago and am ready to head out again. Here is the bike / me on that ride.

Cheers!

SaltCityJeff

Congratz on your "new" bike. I got my 07X in Nov./11, but haven't put on the miles that you already have. I really am liking mine alot! Have fun!

Hi Jeff,

Say, I might need some tips on where to go in southern Utah; I intend coming back thru that way on my upcoming "US West" trip.

--Doc

PS. I have both an '06 Uly and (current ride) a Ducati just like the one in the background of your last pic.

Doc,

I am more than willing to share any and all info you may want regarding Southern Utah. It is an amazing place to ride - it is more scenic than 'twisty' - although you can find some stretches of it in places. Let me know where you intend to enter the state and where you would like to exit and I can get you some great routes to ride.

This particular ride was from Escalante National Monument up and over Boulder mountain, over and down through the Glen Canyon Rec area to Lake Powell, Lake Powell to the Burr trail and the Burr Trail back to Escalante in a day. It was my first time on the Burr Trail and HOLY CRAP was that amazing. (here is the route http://g.co/maps/uqd22 )

Per the Ducati in the background, that is my buddies '10 Strada - it is a wicked bike and my "dream" bike. I just can't get the Mrs to allow me to drop that kind of money on a motorcycle. Although if I sold both my dirt bikes (aint happening) and my Uly I could swing it.

Cheers,
SaltCityJeff

Hey Jeff, my name is Jeff as well. I live in NW Nevada, Fernley to be specific. I just got my 06 Uly on Monday. I have a few minor things to sort out on the bike, but maybe this summer we could meet up in central Nevada for some riding. I've been wanting to visit Great Basin and such.

JK651 - Central Nevada is an easy ride for me. Get things sorted out and let me know. July / August are looking best for me. My son plays comp baseball and that keeps me busy for the early parts of the summer.

Jeff, I'm hoping to get some Southern/Central Utah riding in this year. I'm working on setting my STT up as more of a dual-sport type bike.

Check out the Utah Buellers section in the Storm Fronts too. Some of us are heading out to the races on Monday. If you are going and want to join up with other Buell riders we can make arrangements there.

Hi Jeff. Congrats on the "new" ride. I'm a huge fan of areas in Utah especially Bryce Canyon. If you ever make a big trip out towards Tennessee we will hook you up with a ride on The Dragon. 318 curves in 11 miles. Lots of other places like it too.

Hoping to get out your way on the Uly in the next couple of years. I've always been there on 4 wheels never 2. Enjoy the ride!

Mike - thank you for the heads up on the Utah Buellers section - I definitely need to get myself into that group.

I would love to be out at MMP tomorrow but I am on-call this weekend and have to be near my computer / high speed internet should issues arrive. Pairing my laptop with my cell phone just doesn't cut it.

Even if you don't dual sport out the STT and you want to ride somewheres - let me know. I live in Davis County but work in SLC and can meet up in a number of places for after work rides, or Saturday rides work too.

Keep me in the loop.

Cheers,

Jeff

Orangeulius,

I have a goal to head to Tennessee one of these years on a bike. I LOVE Tennessee and Kentucky. I lived in Tennessee from 1995-1997 and would love to go back to the places I lived and visit as I haven't been back since 2001. My wife also has family in Missouri and Tennessee so it would be nice to go out and see them and ride as well.

Cheers,
Jeff
