2009 XP My check engine light came on a week or so ago. I checked which code it was throwing and it was 34. Idle air control circuit. I disabled the fuel pump and turned the key on and could hear the IAT motor cycling. It sounded kind of grainy as if something was stripped inside. I pulled it out and plugged it back in to see if it wac cycling and the plunger shot out of the end of the motor. So anyway I replaced it today and took it for a ride only to have the CEL come back on. I checked the codes again and now found 34 AND 15. Apparently 15 is for for the IAC sensor. It runs perfectly fine and idles just like it always has. I have tried both my stock ECM and my EBR ECM, getting the same codes on both. Is there any way to erase the codes so I know if it is still throwing the 34 code so I can at least eliminate that problem? Or is that a dealer thing only?

Also does anyone have the part number for the IAT sensor or has anyone cross references it to something automotive?

Thanks in advance

Thanks, I also found it cross references to a 1997 ford f-150. I bought a new one and it was the exact part for 17 bucks at advance auto parts. I tested it's resistance range against the old one and found the old one to be ok. Looking back i think it threw that code from running it with the sensor unplugged trying to diagnose the IAC motor. Stupid me. I dug a little deeper and found the harness was worn through where it runs over the rear head underneath the frame. The one wire that was worn through was grey with a red tracer, which goes directly to the IAC motor. I fixed it and stuck all the old parts back in. Gonna run it tonight and see if the light comes back on. Wish me luck!

Its all good. Just as a reference there is a plastic bracket under the frame that holds the TB harness off the rear head. Where the harness exits the bracket on the right side seems to be a very easy spot for it to wear through on the rear head. Might be something to look at if you have your airbox off. I tied mine further out of the way with a couple zip ties.
