I'm not saying it is right, but I've been doing it for years, 5 ZTL equipped Buells (some with 6 pot, some 8), and out of all the things to happen I've never had an issue with the caliper bolts. I don't know the torque spec either, I just good-n-snug them with my frail nerd arm strength.

well i've done 32 lbs ft & it felt just right. wearing a shinko 009 raven & ebc hh brakes now. 7300 miles - 1500 since i rode it out of centerville, ohio on the 12th of april. really enjoying it. caleb, the po, a really good man...he needs to try trials riding with his young sons.
about the best road bike i've ridden, seriously & will greatly improve with a palmer or mad stad soon...

The book calls for red; I generally use blue.

I think the use of red Loctite for a lot of stuff must be based on what the lawyers say, as opposed to any actual technical requirements. I mean the book calls for red Loctite for the front fender bolts!

Blue.

Only use red one things that you think you will never remove again.

Whatever that "stuff" is that they build the bikes with its a total nightmare. Ok it might be needed on some engine parts but its not on most anything else. Nasty Fe+king, crappy, %$£%%^^%^^&&**. Rant done.

Never used anything on the calipers. But then, I went to the store once without my armored pants, so anyone who would not be ATGATT cannot be trusted, obviously.

A definite indication of a lack of good sense, Ski; for sure. Thanks. I'll be much more careful in considering your recommendations in the future. : )

Red or blue? Either neither or blue.
