Normal bike stands work fine and cheap. Under the forks for the front and cups under the swing arm for the rear. Take care with the cups as the swing are is tapered. You may need to bend them out a bit and need a little rubber to protect the paint.

The front axle is reverse threaded, righty-loosey. You probably knew that.

I use a floor jack under the muffler.

You'll need to remove the fender, position the caliper between two sets of spokes, pull the axle, lift the wheel up and back (I think) so the disk comes out of the caliper. It's a tight fit between the spokes, caliper, and inside circumference of the disc, so every thing has to be positioned just right. You could put tape on the spokes where they might contact the caliper (I think I'll do that next time).

easier to remove the caliper first.

Use a rear stand as well if doing the front.

red or blue loctite on caliper bolts ? - they came out hard- what ever was on there, i don't think it was blue!
red's kinda scary - worrying about threads coming out with it : )
off to the tire store... new HH EBC'S today also...

Blue!

Don't use red loctite on the caliper bolts unless you want to bust out the blowtorch to do your next tire change.

The idea of the front axle thread being "counter clockwise" is that it will not wind itself out, through wheel rotation, if the pinch bolts are or become loose. The direction is clearly marked on the forks.
