I think Walter on "The Finder" tv show rides a Ural sidecar hack. Pretty decent show.

I'll morn Pan Am, Harry's Law, Terra Nova, The Finder.

Our cable tv carrier thought they could continuously raise the price of their service at least every other month. Last month it was 10 bucks more than ever before. I guess they think we are sheep. No premium movie channels either, just 30 bucks for DVR and digital tier HD channels which they make you upgrade to when you get the DVR. Cox Communications just priced their TV crapola beyond what I am willing to bend over and pay. We are canceling cable tv in a couple of weeks and that will free up $101.00 per month if you can believe that. Our addiction to crappy tv will go cold turkey.

Fact is, we will use our 52" for movies we can check out for free at the library, get from Redbox, stream from our computer, and maybe even subscribe to Netflix (maybe). Our library has entire seasons of shows on DVD and it is free and you can check them out for a week at a time.

If enough folks just up and canceled their cable tv cold turkey it would send a loud and clear message to the cable companies that maybe they need to rethink their crappy business plan. I want ala carte programming. Why we use less than 50 channels but pay for hundreds is a big joke on us consumers. Cox can kiss my deserting ass.

And that Chelsea show was just plain foul and never deserved to be shown for even one episode.

Harry's Law is a fantastic show and they go an cancel it.

No more feeling like a Zombie watching low brow shows night after freaking night after brain draining night. You've all heard of that AMC show the Walking Dead, well the vast majority of Americans have become the obese reclining dead. TV, processed food and laziness is why so many men and women have become such huge-n-gross-n-big-n-fat-n-ugly slobs that keep the knee and hip replacement surgeons in their McMansions.

Electraglider_1997, please don't hold back, tell us how you really feel!

Actually, I could not agree with you more. I too wish everyone would cancel their cable TV and see what happens. I think the world would be a better place. I would really like to see everyone get rid of all their electronic devices but there is one problem with that. No more BadWeb? That would be horrible.

I've never owned or had a cell phone and have no plans to ever have one. When I hear of people camping out to get the next Iphone I think "What fools". Reminds me of Lemmings heading over a cliff. I do like the internet and of course we have a very nice new computer but I use it for news, finance, and will probably use it to stream movies (maybe). Sick of being so darned addicted to TV so I am going to stop that by the end of this month.

You won't miss it EG. We dump it years ago. Watch an occasional video. Read a lot more (I get the Wall Street Journal now). I can scan the headlines...unlike TV which drags you through their mindless crap. I saw this the other day: "muse" means to think. "Amuse" means not to...like amoral. "Amusement" is not thinking and paying for it too. I find BWB muse and amuse...and free. Thanks BWB!

I have found myself sickened by many shows on tv. Whatever happened to shows like "The Andy Griffith Show", Gilligan's Island, The Beverly Hillbillies. Many of todays' shows just string 30 minutes of sexual innuendos from start to finish until your eyes cross. Sick of it. There are some really good shows but I can't justify paying 100 bucks a month for so little in return.
Kids today have only seen the filth they've had jammed down their throats from a very early age. It is no wonder our society is getting so darned morally bankrupt and greedy.

Thank God for motorcycles and their head cleansing ways. Buells in particular.

Do you know who the real fools are? People that ride motorcycles. Needlessly putting their lives in danger while operating uneconomical and noisy and polluting machinery. Why on earth would anyone pay to increase their chances of death? Almost as crazy as smokers.

Funny how you mention the filth in todays shows, yet Gilligan's Island was just a metaphor for your average mans dream of being stuck on an island with beautiful women.

I'm not sure what shows you are watching, but the shows I watched growing up, and the kids shows I still watch today aren't loaded with filth. Even non-kids shows other than late night comedies are fine.

Either way, I do agree about ditching cable, it is for suckers these days.
