My guess is that your ground terminal is finally tight enough! If you're careful and very lucky, perhaps you can drill a hole in what's left of the terminal and install a nut and bolt. I wouldn't trust the thing to get you out of death valley though. I've messed up car batteries almost as badly and got away with drilling and tapping them. Of course there is a lot more meat in an old car battery! | ||

"Negative post connector nut pulled out." Thats because you did it up so hard it pulled the steel block/nut through the lead post. Unless something else has been done to it. You may need to buy a new battery. | ||

Natexlh1000, your idea was the first I came up with too. But there just didn't seem to be enough lead to try that. I ended up placing a longer bolt in the nut to hold it temporarily in place and allowing enough room to get a soldiering iron in there. Then filled it in with solder. Then I replaced the bolt with the stocker. Seems to be holding for now, and electrical connection seems good. I can't remember really hamfisting it, but it has gone in the shop once under my ownership and the PO took it in a few times as well. So I'm paying the price now. I'm finding more and more things on this bike that have been overtorqued.  | ||

That's great! I would have thought the solder would be too much and melt the plastic around the terminal. |
