I replaced my front rotor after 40k miles with a new (used) rotor that came from a firebolt. The brake pulsing is completely gone and the bike is great under brakes. However, the calipers don't seem to be adjusting to the new brake thickness. When I pull on the brake lever, the lever travels much farther than it used before it touches the rotor. Anyone have this issue before and know how to resolve it? I feel like these should automatically adjust to the caliper thickness. The brakes work great, but I have to pull the lever half-way in before it actually touches the rotor. I'm just looking for a way to adjust this such that when I start to pull in the lever, it hits the rotor much quicker. | ||

The calipers should do as you say and stay near the surface of the rotor. The only things that come to mind is if there is a bubble in there or if the rotor is wobbling a bit to push the pistons out. I would suggest jacking up the front end and giving the wheel a spin while looking at the pad to disk clearance. | ||

The pad to disk clearance looks fine. I'm still looking for a solution. I may just bleed the brakes and hope that fixes it. | ||
