I replaced my front rotor after 40k miles with a new (used) rotor that came from a firebolt. The brake pulsing is completely gone and the bike is great under brakes. However, the calipers don't seem to be adjusting to the new brake thickness. When I pull on the brake lever, the lever travels much farther than it used before it touches the rotor. Anyone have this issue before and know how to resolve it? I feel like these should automatically adjust to the caliper thickness. The brakes work great, but I have to pull the lever half-way in before it actually touches the rotor. I'm just looking for a way to adjust this such that when I start to pull in the lever, it hits the rotor much quicker.

The calipers should do as you say and stay near the surface of the rotor.
The only things that come to mind is if there is a bubble in there or if the rotor is wobbling a bit to push the pistons out.

I would suggest jacking up the front end and giving the wheel a spin while looking at the pad to disk clearance.

The pad to disk clearance looks fine. I'm still looking for a solution. I may just bleed the brakes and hope that fixes it.

I know what it is? And the fix is $29.99 payable via PayPal.
