My Uly riding pal's neck won't support a helmet (has had surgery) so his Uly has sat a year and he thinks he is done and told me he is going to unload his bikes. Dang! My wife quit me too...but I am carrying on. Anyway, minty 3000ish miles 2007 orange Uly with side Hepco's. 406-899-4thousand Bob is his name if you know anyone. (Great Falls MT) I told him a range so make an offer.

Sounds like a killer fly and ride package! Good luck to both of you.

Good day all, just a short post. My Uly 06 tipped and fell over after my morning ride. No major damage but the bolts which attach the stand to the chassis sheared off. The stand is in original shape very good after i picked it up. Damn. Just to let you all know - check stand bolts now. No sign of rust at all. Maybe best to upgrade them to prevent tipping.

Kakimoto,
There was a recall for the side stand for 06 Ulysses.
Check it out and get the updated parts.

Eulysses,

Sorry to hear about Bob's misfortune! Good on you for helping him sell the bikes. Best of luck to you both....having re-discovered how much I love my Uly, I understand how unfortunate this occasion is!

Well...a little update. Bob called tonight and said the Uly sold...right after he put it in Craigslist. Couple "younger" guys came up from Bozeman, one with a 1200GS wanting his bud to get the Uly so they could ride together. Buyer rode the bike (he has only been a dirt rider) and wow! So the 1200 guy goes for a ride...finally comes back. He was pumped. He said he had no idea these bikes were this much fun and said right there he is selling his 1200 and finding one. Bob sold it for $7000 (what he paid summer 09). No squabble. I took the time to write this as an encouragement. We have a great bike. There are no more. Nothing like them for so little coin. Let's ride!

Great news, Eulysses. I couldn't agree more. Thanks for the 'feels good' post!

OT but Kakimoto here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/B063A-263609.pdf

Also, reading your profile, pinging due to fuel quality is dealerspeak for "we can't figure it out". My '06 was a terrible pinger on USA Premium gas until the ECM died and I replaced it with a stock '07. Pinging gone. Try flashing the ECM to '07 spec, IMO.
