I know it is over the sticker limit but wondering what you have carried with no issue. I've carried a case of beer and that is probably the most I've carried. Just ride reasonably and you'll be fine. If you are concerned about the extra weight damaging the bags strap the bag handle to the passenger grab bar. The extra weight will change the CG of the bike so I wouldn't recommend any peg dragging....unless you want to! Personally the last place I'd want a high mass metal object is strapped to my back or on the seat behind me. We run all three bags and a tank bag. One side is hers, one mine, and the top is for the bike. I know we have done a 900 mile, three day trip at well over 30 pounds in each bag, probably closer to 40.   Crusty Posted on Thursday, March 22, 2012 - 10:58 am:        I regularly overload my bags and have had no problem, but I don't think I'd want to carry a crank in them. It would really suck to hear a crack and see your bag with the crank in it bouncing down the pavement in the rear view mirror. I took the car today since I made the trip in the foggy dark and it rained like Hell coming back so glad I did. but in a week or two I'll be putting in the pillion position strapped down to the beaver tail.
