World's largest motorcycle manufacturer, the India based Hero MotoCorp , has partnered with USA based Erik Buell Racing . Erik Buell was well known for his revolutionary motorcycle designs when the Buell brand was part of Harley-Davidson. But a few years back, Harley closed the Buell brand, and Erik Buell set up his motorcycle design shop. Last year, Hero ended the 26 year partnership with Honda. Now he will be supporting the Indian brand in the design of their future models using his cutting edge technology. So do not be surprised to see very new and advanced motorcycles next year coming from Hero. |

That brings to mind the cancelling of one of my favorite shows of last year, "Outsourced". Anybody else watch that show because it was a real good one. http://www.nbc.com/outsourced/ Maybe the next Buell/Hero ULY will proclaim on the airbox, Buell Indian Motorcycles. |

This is a sad day for best performing American built motorcycles ever made but I guess it's what Erik felt he need to do. |

This is a sad day for best performing American built motorcycles ever made but I guess it's what Erik felt he need to do. I'd say that's not necessarily so. Erik may be helping Hero with design for their Indian-built bikes, while Hero infuses cash into EBR so they can start building U.S.-built EBR bikes. Nothing sad about that. |

Try to be a little more optimistic. Have some faith and trust in Erik. Remember, to us, they are motorcycles we are passionate about. To Erik they are much more; his life. I also know Erik has learned a LOT from his dealings with Harley and I highly doubt he would let that happen again. Notice in all of those articles it states "partnered" not sold, dissolved, or dismantled. This to me seems very exciting. Erik has the financial backing of very deep pockets at this point. |

>>>>Has anybody heard of Hero until now? Millions and millions have . . they are one of the largest vehicle companies in the world. http://www.heromotors.com/ http://heromotocorp.com/ http://heromotocorp.com/hero_admin/data_content/pd f/annual_report/Annual_Report_2010-11.pdf They are one of the most amazing and CUSTOMER CENTRIC (I tend to be very keen on the Customer end of the company) companies in the world. There are more than 8.2 million people in their Customer Loyalty Programme. I'll let you do the comparison. I want to say that Hero makes more bikes in a day than HD makes in a year but I'm not sure that is accurate. It does, however, provide a sense for what they can do with the world's most modern motorcycle plant. Toss in East Troy, WI USA and it's a WIN-WIN deal.

Maybe we will see what the EBR ax model looks like in the coming years?? This will bring money into the company (EBR) for development of production EBR bikes. |

Very GOOD news! Exciting times ahead and I love seeing Erik doing so well. The world has shrunk, no doubt, and forward thinking, aggressive competitors, like Erik, will get the lower hanging fruit. I'm a supporter! |

Huh? Erik built a promising company that was bought by the ultimate American icon company, and they &*&^%& the company up six ways to sunday and for all the worst reasons. An Indian company fired Honda and hired EBR as an engineering shop, without precluding EBR from doing any other manufacturing or design on their own. How is this bad? Hero didn't buy EBR, they bought EBR expertise. I buy EBR engineering skill in the form of a bike. Good for Hero for buying EBR engineering skill in the form of EBR Engineering skill. It tells me they are smart and ambitious. And Hero sponsored Danny freaking Eslick to ride a pure EBR 1190 for a season or two of AMA Superbike!!!! Go Hero! Go Danny! EBR escaped from Harley, and just beat Honda in a competitive bid for providing engineering expertise. They beat ***Honda***. That's like my 5th grade sons football team beating New England in the super bowl. There is nothing but great news here.... There just isn't any bad news here try as you might to find it. |

I don't know if anyone else has seen this story yet but it here it is just in case. http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/222783 "The fact is there are plenty of interested customers, but EBR can't reach them until a dealer network is established, a lengthy process that requires a huge legal investment. Setting up international distribution is even more expensive, not to mention the wait to match up production timelines with cash flow. "We had the potential to do 1,500 bikes in 2012, but we had to revise that down to 900. I didn't think it would be this hard to raise $20 million," Buell laments, pointing out that the total he needs isn't much more than what many less-established tech and service companies are getting every day from banks and venture capital firms." |

Harley has been trying to make inroads to the Indian market for awhile now. Wouldn't it be funny if EBR is already there. This is great news, and could mean a cash infusion for EBR. Hero is apparently working on a hybrid moto. This could also be great techno wise for EBR. |
