Hell for Leather just put up an interview with Erik Buell that sheds some light on EBR's current situation and future direction. HFL posts are available free for 12 hours then are subscription only.
Some key points: EBR is "less than 20 of us"; "We've built 70 bikes so far. Our goal is 100 and that's all I'm going to build of the RS model".
He comments in detail about RS features and possibilities for the future.
It's a very good, if short, read. Awesome pics, too.

Amazing that only 20 people can build a bike that is very different and yet can compete with bikes from companies that have thousands of engineers.

Truly amazing.

Just commenting about styling and the new AX on another posting - I think the 1190 is the best styled rocket bike in the world - the Ducatis come in a close 2nd. The Japanese rockets are too organic [ sea creatures ] and the BMW is too asymmetrical. Looks like Count von Mach Schnell with a monocle.

I really hope EBR can break out, stay viable, make money, go big time.

"Count von Mach Schnell"

I met him one time in the front seat of a manual M5 on a certain manufacturer's test track in Greenville, SC. He was one one heckuva co-pilot. We had a blast that day.

Windrider, Our company manufactures custom specialty vehicles for, among other things, law enforcement, and it always amazes me what we can do because of the fact that our engineers sit about 20' away from the production floor and go there often. Our larger competitors are far less flexible, sometimes (often) to their detriment.

We are only about 20 people.
