I think my starter died on me...

I went to start the uly today and heard some clicks and then nothing...the kill switch on the bike did nothing else and the starter just went dead...
Removed the battery conectors, re-conected the battery did the self check again with no issues, I hit the start button, and nothing again...just dead...

Toughts anyone? Should I start looking for another starter?

No.
There is a relay, switch (button) and wiring to check first. Try jumping a hot wire direct to the correct lug on the starter. Use a heavy gauge wire.

How fast are the clicks? If it sounds like a machine gun, that means your battery is dead.

It only clicked once and then stopped. I removed the battery conectors, then re-conected and no noise again, just dead.

The battery was on a tender, there is juice, the lights, horn, etc work. Could the tender be bad??? just enough juice to turn the lights on but not enough to turn the starter?

Not sure how to check the relay...looks like a dealer trip to me in my near future! Sucks!

Them relays are all the same. Just take 'em out swap 'em around and see if you notice any difference.
You got 4 white relays there (1.Start 2. Auxiliary 3. Key switch 4. Ignition)

and ... get the manual. You can order an copy online (Electric Diagn. and Service Manual). In it you'll fine a complete battery of diagnostic tests to troubleshoot the starter et al. Money well spent.

Well then! Checked the relays, made sure the battery is charged, didn't find anything unusual...tried her again and BAM! all back up and running!

Turned her off and on several times, took her for a ride and all seems normal again...maybe something was loose...who knows...she is alive again!

For goos measure, here is her pic with the new palmer brackets, bar ends, and gripster tape in place!

Thanks everyone for the replies!

just saw the thread ... glad she's back up and goin Rod. She looks good by the way. I don't know that this is the same thing, but I swear that one time I was in too big of a hurry and hit the starter before the fuel injection primed ... at least I think that is what happened. Anyway, I heard an odd click / clicking, I don't recall exactly. It just sounded very wrong and did not start. I shut everything down, said a quick prayer, was patient after turning the key and flipping the kill switch, and she turned right over. It's never happened again.
