I just went to the EB.Racing site and they are still trying to sell that 100 bikes. I would think that a 100 bikes sold worldwide shouldn't be such a lengthy task but apparently I'm wrong. Am I looking at this wrong...hope so.

I've wondered also, but I seem to remember reading that all 100 had been sold. I don't remember where or when I read it, but it sticks in my mind. I did see one at the Long Beach IMS, and sat on it. It's a beauty to behold. And light!

Its a tall order in this economy. Nonetheless, the RUB's of the world would do themselves good to own this bike.

The EB.R site still advertises these 100 bikes for sale. Maybe they have sold more than that and they are trying to make the bike seem more exclusive by this type of marketing.
I emailed them this morning asking if we might see an AX in the foreseeable future and this was their response word for word:

Nothing coming right away...depends what foreseeable means! Stay tuned...

Blake,
I'll take your answer and circular file it away. Sheesh. By the way, EB.Racing took the time to update the Race Team news. http://www.erikbuellracing.com/race-team/
I would think it would be to their advantage to make known and celebrate having sold 100 bikes. It would be great if they have. Show me a link or something that proclaims this fact. I'll gladly wise up with that proof.

Sheesh! lol The guy is either trying to run folks off from Badweb or was having a very bad day that 'confused' him.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume an apology for that nasty response will be forthcoming. Trashing an interested Buell Enthusiast was not cool and very weird.

I am not a big sportbike fan, but there was one at the International Motorcycle Show in Dallas, and I was amazed at how light it felt.

As far as selling the 100 bikes, after the 30 - 50 that make up the initial demand from collectors (pure guess on my part), I could see where it may be quite difficult to sell the rest. There are many excellent machines out there for half the price - and some pretty boutique ones from specialty builders at or near the asking price all of whom probably hope to sell 50 - 100 bikes a year.

Good points, Buewulf. I agree. Having said that, I hope, as I'm sure you and Electraglider do, that they have sold all 100 and have plans for future 'consumer' bikes. Had a great ride on my Uly yesterday and feel great about that bike!

I saw the 1190 at Sturgis and was impressed but no way I'd spend $40-$45,000 for one. Hopefully there are enough racers and enthusiasts, with the bucks and interest, to make it happen.

EG,

>>> I'll take your answer and circular file it away.

That doesn't' bode well for your integrity. You made a really dumb assumption. Deal with it. No one said all 100 have been sold. I don't even know if all 100 have been built yet. We do know that a significant number have been sold.

Buellerxt,

"that nasty response"

If you are talking about my post, you are confused. Or your definition of "nasty" is far removed from reality. I'd be fine if jerks like you were chased away from BadWeB. I have no use for your type. Big mouths stirring up ill will. Take a hike for all I care.

EG I am also concerned about the status of the new motorcycle company. With it's small size, I really don't see any new models being mass produced to make the brand affordable. Even before BMC was shut down, it was a really small motorcycle company and that made it hard to compete with the much larger competition it was facing. From some of the comments I've been reading here on BadWeb, some owners are already parting ways with their Buells and buying other brands. I certainly hope I'm wrong. Time will tell! I don't see myself ever owning another motorcycle after my Ulysses.

I am definitely prone to grumpiness. My good friend, brother-in-law, and business partner is in hospital since Thursday. At one point his heart stopped. Diagnosis is a very dangerous to operate on brain tumor. Thought we'd lost him. Am frustrated. First neurologist completely misdiagnosed the tumor, giving great relief to family saying tumor was tiny, non-invasive and easily operable. We were all celebrating such positive news. &$%#ing arrogant doctors killed my father in law who I loved dearly. I despise them. current neurologist seems good, even coming in during off hours to consult.

I don't like the plan he's offered, to wait and see, then if growth continues to attack with radiation. But I'm no neurosurgeon. Very frustrating.

Sorry if I let my frustration spill over here. Thanks for understanding.

Where is THE BEST hospital and staff for treating non-malignant brain tumors? Johns Hopkins? Mayo? Anyone know?

"Doesn't bode well"... I hate negativity, especially broadcast publicly based on misinformation and really poor, entirely negative assumptions. The appearance is as though some are cheering for failure. Think before you write?

Gossip sucks.

Mayo & John's Hopkins are both excellent facilities. However, the best treatment comes from the "best" neurosurgeon for the affliction.
Try to find out the exact type of tumor (name) & then research on-line for physicians & facilities who specialize in that specific area.
FWIW: My better half is an oncology nurse so I am more familiar with malignancies. (I have worked for Oncologists before although I am not a medical professional)
Good luck & please have the best Christmas you can given your current circumstances.

"Who Knows If It Wasn't for a time Such As This"

Thread seamed to take some fast curves. I hope everyone will bear me out. If I had not been goin' through an over-whelming pile of people skills developing situations and circumstances over the past few weeks, I'd just continue to lurk. That said, "It is what it is".
Lessons learned:
.Continue to smile even if you have to explain that you don't think another's situation is funny or amusing.
.I can claim Christianity while observing Karma bite those around me in the hiney.
.Knowing where someone has been helps when we need to dole out mercy with a shovel.
.Just because someones life is spared doesn't mean everything will be easy.
.People are more effective if they prove their selves over time.
.Yelling works best for you if you don't yell back.
.When developing relationships it is best to error on the side of mercy.
.mercy, mercy, and more mercy.

There were more lessons, but these I felt I could share. Merry Christmas is said by lots of people and I repeat it because of what the words mean to others, even though to me they invoke thoughts of paganism and the history of how it has invaded the church. Mercy, is easy to say but not always easy to pay for by those who would be best served by shelling it out in large quantities. Brothers and Sisters, I hope you are as blessed this year as I have been every year so far. Merry Christmas!

Blake - best of luck to you and your brother-in-law. I know Hopkins has an amazing trauma team - they, along with MD Shock-Trauma, bolted me back together in '08 - but both my parents have been treated by Mayo for cancer. My 83 year old dad is still hangin' in (despite diabetes, 2 fake hips, one fake knee, a triple bypass, and an overwhelming urge to watch wars on TV to see if they end differently), and my 74 year old mother will walk my under-40-ass up and down a tennis court at will.

I agree with Chris - do some research. The medical industry has a great online database - once you figure out exactly what the affliction is, you should have no problem finding "the" specialist.

Good luck, and best Holiday wishes to you, your family, and his.

Sloan-Kettering in NYC and MD Anderson in Houston and both considered top-shelf cancer treatment centers.

Do what you can to help him help himself. I'm a firm believer that attitude is one of the most elements of recovery. It's hard to be positive when you feel miserable. Help him find support from the outside in and the inside out.

Don't forget to do what you can to keep your own attitude as positive as possible and support the support staff. Optimism is contagious. Like they tell you in emergencies - you need to make sure you're taken care of otherwise you can't give the aid you need to. Don't neglect your own needs in an effort to give more. You give best when you have your greatest strength.

Keep us posted.
