I am in the process of removing a Jardine RT-One and installing a stock muffler on my 08' Uly X, and have a question as to how the rear banana bracket is to be mounted. There is an offset to it where the oil line goes thru it. Looking from the rear of the bike is the offset to the left or right of the mounting holes? It looks like it could go either way but I haven't tried to slip it up onto the header yet

Can anyone take some photos of this area and would appreciate some of the front strap clamp orientation as well and which way the header clamp should face?

Also, can I just use a pick to remove the spring clip from the oil line or do I need the fancy, mancy oil line removal tool shown in the service manual, or something else?

One other thing, there is a white plastic clip on the actuator cable, where is that supposed to push into and which side of the oil lines does the cable go on or how is it to be routed.

This is turning into quite a project.

Thanks

Thanks for the photos Ourdee, but I still have a question on the rear muffler bracket orientation. Looking at the photo shown which side does the oil line go trough? As you can see the bracket is not symmetrical and being I have to remove an oil line I want to get it on the bike correct the first time. So looking from the rear of the bike which side of my bracket photo is the oil line to go?

if you have help you can tilt your bike to the right and put some old rags/blaket on the floor and put the bike laying on the right side, then you can remove the oil line with out loosing any oil, and saving the mess.

I know by experience.

Nopork,
I just went out and looked at my bike and the oil line goes through on the rear brake lever side of that bracket. In your photo the oil line would be through the shorter "left" hole side which happens to be nearest the rear brake lever as mentioned in my first sentence. I measured the length of those holes and the left one in your photo which is shorter (where the oil line goes through) is most definitely on the rear brake lever side and also the tensioner pulley side of the bike. Another way to say it is that the view you photo'd should face the front of the bike and that left hole will have the oil line running through it.

And if you even try to put that bracket backwards, I'm sure it will hit the idler tensioner pulley. That bracket will surely only fit the correct way.

Thank you Electroglider 1997. That is just the info I needed. Now I only need to know the routing of the cable that hooks up to the muffler. Mine was wire tied up so I need to know how it routes down near the bottom of the engine by the oil lines etc.

Photo anyone????

Thanks again.
