Hey all, new to this forum. I just picked up a Bareicade orange 2006 XB12X and could not love an inanimate object any more than this. I have had my Buell X1 Lightning (2000) for sometime and have been impressed with Erik Buells designs. So when I recently had the opportunity to acquire a Ulysses I jumped at the opportunity. I have wanted a bike that was fun and could go on long distance trips, the lightning was fun to ride but upon completing a 200 mile ride I felt physically drained. I began looking for something that would be comfortable to ride 2 up on a long ride when I stumbled on the Ulysses. After reading all the reviews I pulled the trigger and got one. I am very impressed at how comfortable the bike is as well as how it handles for a tall bike. I don't think any of the reviews did the bike justice, they seemed to show concern about the vibration and how loud it is, but those are the things I love about it! So far I love it and now the X1 Lightning feels like I am riding a tree trunk compared to the Uly. I guess I will have to save the X1 for the track! Josh | ||

Welcome to what used to be a great bunch of folks promoting their Buell motorcycles. We still love them, but HD took the fun out of promoting them. At 57,000 miles I still get permagrin from riding mine.  You can find a list at the top of BBD if you would like to see what to expect, but it sounds like you are up on the program. So ride away! Welcome aboard! You got the best color, and the best year. And ignore what Froggy says - the D616 Dunlops handle just fine  Just don't ignore that poor tuber. I own 3 generations of Buells...they're all just as great as they are different. If anything, the XB will help you identify and appreciate the character of the tuber. As always - ride, grin, repeat! | ||

Hi Josh. Welcome aboard. It is a fun, and as you mentioned, comfortable bike: two traits that don't often present themselves in the same machine. I agree with Ratbuell on the D616 if your bike still has them. Very versatile tire that sticks well to the road and offers up acceptable traction if you feel like getting a little dirty. Good solid carcass on it. | ||
