What's the big mother bolt and nut coming down just behind the kickstand and just ahead of the shifting linkage? I'm seeing fluid collect here but can't tell if its leaking directly or being blown there. I was afraid I might have stripped either the oil or primary drain plugs but they look clean and besides I would not expect oil/fluid to travel towards the front of the bike against the wind. Fluid might be oozing from the case where the 2 black allen head bolts are. Ive cleaned it all up and will test ride again - just surporised I didn't find what that bolt does in the manual thanks |

That's the big mutha adjustment assembly for the primary chain tensioner. It has an O-ring, IIRC, that can give up a little if it has been ham fisted by someone or not reseated properly after adjustment. Its an easy fix- new O-ring or a little schmear of the goop the FSM suggests for use on the oil drain plug. My "pre-owned" '07 came to live with me after it puppy puddled on the showroom floor of "the world's largest H-D dealership" 2nd story Buell display and I was able to haggle the price down for that old, leaky Uly over yonder. Turns out, it was a partially damaged O-ring on that big mutha bolt that saved me a chunk of $ off the purchase price. After I fixed it with help from BWB and FSM, no more leaks.
