So, does anyone know the best place to get a new set of headers from? I've been looking all over the web with not much luck. I'm cool with aftermarket but I don't want anything performance that will require remapping. Id just like stock headers. I really don't want to go to HD to get them. You would think there would be more of an aftermarket presence but its pretty disappointing. |

Ebay, or you can buy a stock set that's been ceramic coated from American Sport Bike. |

The only thing that meets all your requirements is the ceramic coated headers that American Sport Bike sells. |

My headers have cracked all the way around. I live near American Sport Bike and in order to get the ceramic headers you will need a core to give to Al so that he can send it to get the ceramic treatment. (I don't blame him.) The core needs to be free of any major defects so mine was not going to cut the mustard. I have now taken mine to a shop to get welded. (Pics of totally completed bike to follow within 2 weeks.) |

Cracking is usually caused by improper installation - mistorqued and/or being out of alignment. Make sure to install the new ones properly. |

Termi makes headers for XBs, but they are expensive. IIRC new headers from HD are only ~$200. Order a set up on-line and you don't have to set foot in a nasty HD dealership |
