I was just waiting for confirmation it was a Uly and a crank failure (which you gave at the top of this thread). Thanks! Don't like seeing another red data point, but at least it was at 50k+. A crank failure at 30k is an outrage. A crank failure at 50k is annoying and disappointing. (IMHO). What was the rough cost for top and bottom end rework? $2500 or so? If my crank failed today (and according to the data, it might) I would think seriously about putting in a 9 crank (and primary I suppose). I like the grunt of the 12, but I liked the 7800 rpm howl of the 9. And the 9 seems to be just about indestructible. I guess the ideal solution is the 2009 and up motor... or whenever they got the cam cover oil pump setup.   Schwara Posted on Friday, September 16, 2011 - 03:06 pm:        That's awesome.
