Done! I was just waiting for confirmation it was a Uly and a crank failure (which you gave at the top of this thread).

Thanks! Don't like seeing another red data point, but at least it was at 50k+.

A crank failure at 30k is an outrage. A crank failure at 50k is annoying and disappointing. (IMHO).

What was the rough cost for top and bottom end rework? $2500 or so? Or is that low?

Wolf, I was thinking the opposite.

If my crank failed today (and according to the data, it might) I would think seriously about putting in a 9 crank (and primary I suppose).

I like the grunt of the 12, but I liked the 7800 rpm howl of the 9. And the 9 seems to be just about indestructible.

I guess the ideal solution is the 2009 and up motor... or whenever they got the cam cover oil pump setup.

That's awesome. I'm glad another Buell is back on the road. I'm in Hocking Hills OH this weekend ... bikes everything, but mine is THE ONLY Buell I've seen. Can't wait until consumer production is up again, but until then I am honestly happy that one has been reborn. Ride hard ... Aaron

It's in the 07 thread. Replaced crank with pre-08 crank. 12 pistons @ ten over bore.
