My '06 has the little rubber push through mounting things. Didn't they come out with a set of better hardware?? I just installed a CeeBaileys screen, and the larger size and that hardware make me a bit nervous! Whatsayyou? | ||

All of the short windscreens had the push pin things, the tall ones had actual hardware to secure them. Get a set of Palmer brackets anyway. | ||

Honestly Im pretty happy without the extra brackets. I'm not a fan of the looks, and the screen seems to be about perfect right where it is. That said, if I understand correctly, I can just order up hardware for a tall screen? | ||

That standard sized screens stay on with the rubber thingies just fine. With the optional tall screen, there were some that had them pop off at high speed so they retrofitted them with screws. | ||

Find a dealer and order the "touring windshield recall kit"...or just the stock attaching hardware for the bottom of an '09 or '10 XT windshield. You should get 2 screws, four washers, 2 spacers, and 2 nuts. | ||

Perfect, thanks. Just out of curiosity- did those models use the rubber push through hdwr on top, or the same screws, etc as the bottom? | ||

push-pins up top, screws at the bottom. Top gets pressed IN by wind; bottom gets levered OUT. | ||

well a cheap option that will work ok is to use a pair of clips those ones to hold documents together, at least i know they work by experience, a cheap solution while you wait to get the upgrade hard ware. | ||

Another option for the top side is to use the automotive plastic pins (used for A, B, C pillars, etc.) and put a flat washer on the back side of the screen as a "keeper" for the upper portion of the flyscreen - - at least its been working for me on the smaller X windscreen. . . |
