I've just completed the rear isolator replacement on my 08 XT after the week long ride on the electric toothbrush. Now I find I have no rear brakes. Removed the caliper for wheel removal is the only thing done with it. Now you can press the lever till it hits the mechancial stop with no noticable affect. Watching the caliper from the back it looks to be twisting up and over the rotor. Any ideas? |

I just did mine a month ago for the first time and you have to make sure that spring clip is correctly positioned towards the top-back. Check your service manual to see what I'm referring to. |

Having the shop manual is the way to go for any Buell you own. I just changed the pads on my 08XT for the first time, and wouldn't have seen the spring clip had I not looked in the manual first. |

I think I have found the problem. As I was taking everything off to replace rear isolator. The rear caliper was set above the fluid reservoir. Air bubbles settled in the new high spot. Bled them and now a very strong suggestion is sent back there to stop the bike. Now playing with my Super Tenere so will not find out if the replacing all isolators kills the vibrations on the thing. |
