I have been running a Signal Dynamics single L.E.D. monitor for a little over a year now and it worked great.Till today when the wires broke loose from the L.E.D. I was just wondering what everybody else was using. I was going to try and replace the L.E.D. but its a three color unit and I cant seem to find an exact replacement.

Kuryakyn LED voltmeter. Works and looks great. Mounted it on the upper triple tree in front of the handlebars. 3 years in all weather with zero issues.

I'm running one of those kuryakin ones too.
I stuck it above the instrument cluster with the wires spliced into the back of the power socket.
My only gripe is that it's too bright at night.

I have the Kuryakyn meter on my GPS mount, right switch housing. Also all weather, no issues. I have one on the S2 and on the M2 as well.

Nate - the little round eye at the bottom right, next to the "16", is a light sensor. Make sure its not getting reflections or something - it should dim at night.

Also, I do NOT recommend tapping a voltmeter into the aux outlet. The ECM turns that outlet OFF when voltage drops into the range where you NEED the meter. Tap into a wire for the instrument cluster lighting, or your position lamp (little socket between the headlights). They stay on no matter what. Aux outlet, you'll see your V dropping...and dropping...and then POOF, the meter will turn off right when you need it most. You'll still have juice...but how much? When my 77 went south, I rode for nearly 30 minutes after my GPS (aux outlet) cut off.

And I could watch my V level the whole time.

If it is to bright at night , I just put a small piece of window tinting over it. They sell small tint at some auto part stores also great for putting a strip on your helmet visor.

I installed a Kuryakyn LED monitor just below the instrument cluster on a 1125R. That location puts the direct illumination just below my line of sight but the colored lights reflect off the black cluster housing for a really neat subdued effect which is not distracting at night and easily seen in daylight.

I've also put a piece of plain ol' scotch tape on the LEDs...and colored it with a Sharpie. Insta-"tint".

No, there is a light sensor on the front of my visor that will automatically tint it, similar to an auto-dimming car mirror.
