What revs do you guys run street and highway?? mine had a XB9 primary swap and I'm not sure about it. Is it OK to cruise the streets at 2k or 3k ? This motor should'nt need to rev to make power. Whats ok? I have'nt revved it past 4500. I'm a cruiser not a bruiser.

I run about 80 miles a day back and forth down the interstate at 70-80mph and she's turning 3700-4000 rpms.

My Uly flat out loves to cruise at 4000. Top gear with the stock 12 primary, that's 80 mph.

Rev the bike.

I find the sweetspot to be 2500rpm in 5th with stock gearing, it gives the best fuel economy and least amount of engine trauma.

Mine's the same as Ratbuell's. 80 indicated is about 3900 rpm (gps says 77 true road speed) and is dead smooth. About 50,000 of the bike's 95,000 miles have been cruising at that speed.
Mileage at sea level is approx 44 day in and day out. If I run it at 75 indicated I get about 50 mpg but it isn't as smooth.
I suppose if I could constrain myself to run at 2500 in 5th it would get at least 60 mpg, but thataintgonnahappen.

Yep, my Uly is happy @ 4k rpm, 80mph indicated.
Actual 76mph.

2900-3000 is a really sweet zone. Smooth & good mileage (Lately when I cruise there it gets 50+, otherwise 48ish)

Mine is right at 4500 at 80 on the GPS, somewhere around 85 on the speedo. That's with the 9 primary.

Moral of the story is that these bikes have a broad usable powerband which is smooth and sweet. Pick your style and rev at it.
