my 06 uly has been having fuel pump issues. periodically when i go to get back on the bike after getting off at a store for a few minutes the fuel pump doesnt make a sound, and of course it wont start. [only once has it happened while riding, and it came back to life less than a minute later] on every occasion it starts working again shortly thereafter. flicking the kill switch a few times and/or kicking the frame by the fuel pump may or may not help. i found on here that it is likely a chafed wire in the tank. i think i have to just suck it up and take it apart [if my dealer has o-rings] but am not relishing the project. when it did it again today i tipped the bike back and forth with kill switch on RUN and the pump suddenly started working. i am wondering if this might be a bank angle sensor issue instead of chafed wires. it did have the recall done to put the sensor back under the tail already. anybody know how i would test to see if it is the sensor and not the pump, as it seems much easier to fix? or am i just gonna need to suck it up and tear the darn thing apart? |

The BAS does not cut off the fuel pump. You got chafed pump wires. |

The BAS does not cut off the fuel pump. I'm not so sure about that, I agree it's probably chafed wires but when my BAS died IIRC the fuel pump would not operate. Spicerack when it does it again, unplug the BAS and see whether the bike runs, mine would throw a light but at least it would run with the BAS disconnected. |

When my fuel pump went out the bike died immediately and it blew the ignition fuse. When a new fuse was put in it would blow again when the kill switch was flipped to ON. |
