Can't say enough about this great site.

Got a new to me 07 Uly what a blast to ride. Should have got one sooner.
She had 10k on her, race only ECM I think HD and a new set of D 616's

My mods- front turn signal spacers moved inside fairing less flapping at idle now.
Rox 2" Deluxe risers from (Twisted Throttle)
great service. I am 6'4"and they feel good well worth the $ mod. My advice on install is where clutch cable rubs frame, add a piece of tape to protect frame paint cause it will rub. And take the wind screen off and the speedometer out as well, makes install less of a headache.
I can't believe all the questions I get riding her like what make and where its made.
My questions. What psi in the D-616 works best?
Which heated hand grips to buy?
Comfort kit or not?
Tall wind screen/which one?
Keep the race ecm or go back to stock? I use her as a daily work ride.
How long till the grin wears off?

Thanks for any and all advice/input looks like this site has a wealth of experienced and knowledgable folks.
Did I mention how fun the Uly is to run.
Thanks again.....

First off you are stuck with the Permagrin. That is hard to wash off.

For heated grips I recommend the Polly Heaters. They are inexpensive and easy to install. Four years in they are still good.

Windshields are a poop shoot. The air hits everyone differently. Even another rider with the same height, weight and gear will find a way to dislike what works for his equal.

Race ECM is good. No need to change back.

Comfort Kit.....ORDER IT NOW!

PSI in the tires varies for duty. Two up I will hit them at 46. Most riding around 38 to 40. I run all three bags and I ain't no potato chip.

Where ever I go people ask about the Uly. You get used to it.

I run 38F and 40R in my 616s. 2006, all three bags.

I use the Buell heated grips. Plug and play, dirt simple install, work awesome.

Get the comfort kit.

You didn't mention what exhaust you run...but I'd leave the ECM in place. If you have a stock muffler, send the ECM to Erik Buell Racing and have them reflash it for muffler valve control. I have their ECM in my stock 06...AWESOME programming.

Try just removing the windshield and riding that way. I do that in summer and have a Cee Bailey 14" for wintertime. I'm also 6'4".

And like Vern said...get used to the grin.

Zero PSI, Ratbuell can tell you all about that.

The OEM ones that came on 08+ Ulys, they bolt right on with no fuss. Expensive, but work great. Comes with 2 settings, Hot and Thermonuclear.

Comfort kit or not?

Yes

Tall wind screen/which one?

That is subjective. Personally I recommend Palmer Adjustable brackets and play with your current shield, then swap if you aren't happy.

Keep it

The moment you ride a 1125R or Multistrada 1200. The Uly just doesn't feel adequate after that. : )

Keep in mind Froggy has been found to be bias in this regard.

My exhaust looks like a stock one, the heat shield on muffler tail pipe is missing if it had one at all and it sounds like a tractor.
It looks like rust but we call that color heavy Patina. I can't make up my mind to wrap pipes or not.

Thanks all again.

Well if I hadn't worn them out after I PASSED you and your 1125 on the Dragon, I wouldn't have gotten a hole in the rear on the way home ; )

I keep forgetting about that because I take the easy way out on my bikes. Kuryakyn LED meter, stuck to the front master cylinder : )

American Sport Bike sells the control pod for the throttle side to add the OEM Buell switch control of the heated grips if you don't want to have to find a spot to mount an aftermarket switch.

I don't recall how much they were but at the time, it didn't seem like much so I added it to the bag of stuff I had already accumulated. That's the beauty of shopping in person at the corporate HQ of American Sport Bike World Industries Corp Inc LLC . That and lots of free conversation with Al.
