I'm worried and confused. I keep having to clean my rear wheel this summer already. It seems to get a residue on it. I did a breather re-route with no catch can. Could it be spooge? Take a look at the pics and please help. I am more concerned I am burning oil and the engine problems that go with that or something I haven't thought of. Thanks for any help

Looks like condensation out of the exhaust. Do you do a lot of short hops? |

Short as in riding to work, about 15-20 mins? Yeah |

Yep. Condensation filled with carbon. Ride longer |

See the same thing on my 07'. My Uly is my commuter bike as well as long distance tourer. So my rides are either less than 20 minutes or many hours at a time. S100 does a great job of cleaning those rims up. That is if you're someone who washes their Uly. |

Mine did/does exactly the same thing - even after my breather re-route. That's because it's not oil. It's soot, soaked with condensation, spraying out of the exhaust. If it smears, it's oil. If it doesn't smear...it's soot. The fact it's round specks and not airfoil-shaped teardrops tells me its just soot. The teardrops occur when oil hits a spinning wheel, and it "drips" a little bit as it dries. Soot dries faster, so no drip. |

Rat..thanks. I thought I was burning oil or running very rich! Simple Green works good for cleaning them too. I like to have my bike clean, and simple green is my friend! Thanks all |

Reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode called "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" with a young William Shatner. "There's something on the wing". Here's a parody of that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_GZ4h9cdAY&feature =related |
