Help please. Battery seems dead. I rode it all day, then within last hour my voltage meter showed orange then red then blinking red. Won't start without a jump. #77 connector looks good. Suggestions?

Check all your connections (ground in particular) to make sure they're tight, but I'm guessing that it's probably the voltage regulator. Not likely that a dealer will have one in stock. Maybe one of the folks on this site who's close by you has access to a volt meter to verify and a spare regulator you can use if that's what it is.........

Double-check the 77. Mine "looked" ok to me last year while we were on a trip too and had the same problem. My wife's eyes saw some signs of heat / problems.

I used a little multi-tool and roughed up the pins and gave them a slight twist and shoved the connector back together. That was on day 3 of a 10 day trip. That fix got me to day 10 when the 77 connector let me down again on the way home. That time I promptly repeated what I had previously done and that got us home.

Good luck!

Thanks guys. I took it into a dealer and the battery only had 170 crank amps when it should have had 400. It was the original battery on my 06 uly with 32k miles so I just replaced. No problems in the last 150 miles and full green light from the voltage monitor so I think it is fixed. Needed the piece of mind since I'm on the way to alaska. : )
