This is why I love coming to the other end of the country...shared knowledge. One of my three wheeled students said the best raingloves he ever used was his ice fishing gloves. Obviously, there is the lack of protection of "real gloves" but good gravy, if you get them big enough to fit protective gloves underneath, groovy, right? Meets my criteria...dry hands, grippy palms. Done. Whaddya think? |

I've also heard that surgical gloves under your riding gloves work exceedingly well. |

Belinda, Sounds like something worth trying. But they might not work as well in FL, because of the heat / humidity. Might have sweating issues. I know I would have sweating issues with surgical gloves, at least in spring - fall. In the winter, I have a fairly decent set up. |

In warmer weather I wear armored mesh gloves, rain or shine. They dry very quickly. For cooler wet days: http://roadgear.com//maxx-p-140.html?osCsid=8dd3ddbe17e1a42c693c479423ba1d6f

Thanks for the feedback, all. "But they might not work as well in FL, because of the heat / humidity. Might have sweating issues. I know I would have sweating issues with surgical gloves, at least in spring - fall. In the winter, I have a fairly decent set up." True, but I spend a few weeks in MN each summer. On a day like yesterday where I commuted from Duluth to the twin cities, mostly in the rain, which was cold (50's, like FL winter weather), it would have been a perfect solution. I have the three fingered aerostitch glove covers that kept my hands dry but lacked grip. www.aerostitch.com/aerostitch-triple-digit-rain-covers.html Heading up one of the steeper hills in Duluth, my hand lost traction on the hand grip and I stalled. Dummy flat lander me did not practice my "starting on the hill wearing new to me hand gear" and it caused quite a pucker moment in the rain, with relatively new tires, in an area recently filled with new tar. Yikes. That got me thinking, hmmm...ice fishing gloves may have worked a little better. Or maybe I could doctor the hand grips of the three fingered covers with something silicone-y and grippy. For doctoring...use liquid electrical tape. Think "brush on rubber coating". And you can get different COLORS |

Yeah, and for the thread crossover...you can also use the liquid e-tape for your leaky pants seams |
