I just seen one of these: http://www.outriderjournal.com/

Expensive but really nice. Coffee table quality. I couldn't stop reading it!

It does look like good throne room reading material. I typically would rather pick up an issue at a book store and give it a good reading before sending off for a subscription, especially at that $40 for 4 issue rate. I can't see that it would go for more than 12 bucks for an issue at a magazine stand somewheres, otherwise who would buy one. I see they want 16 for a single issue but what they want and what they can get is the thing.

That looks like the Surfers Journal for ADV crowd.

About the same painful subscription rate. I truly enjoyed it (SJ) for about a year and then, asked why? Why pay so much for something that eventually becomes clutter and a burden to move if I do archive it. And after a while, I couldn't remember the last time I dug one out to enjoy the archive. Annnnnd, I moved twice and had to lug those friggen boxes around.

All that said, I'd still pick up a copy of this to see if it would 'hook' me.
