Works fine for me on my '06 with Erik Buell Racing computer...are you doing the "reconnect" process correctly?

The communication setup when you first plug the computer into the bike. You have to do the plug/key on/kill switch on sequence in a particular order then tell the computer to communicate with the bike.

The bike and laptop comunicate fine, with the ole ECM it shows all the info fine and i can do with ease a TPS reset, but when i plug in the Erik Buell Racing ECM it comunicates too but the TPS % and degrees both show zero

That is why you need to do a TPS reset, it resets the position of zero on the ECM.

But does this mean that the ecm comes with zero, and i need to back of the iddle screw down to zero and work from there? So i could sale it to zero with the old ecm an when is zero change the, reset it and work up to 5,1or close to that?

Holy crap that last post was confusing.

All a TPS reset does is re-calibrate the ECM to where TPS is. Your TPS is not necessarily changing positions, you are telling the ECM where the TPS is.

Do a TPS reset with your stock ECM. Swap ECMS and do a TPS reset with that one. In theory, you can now swap them back and forth at will.

I just don't want to open the air box and take out the air filter to see if it's fully closed in any case i'll do it this sunday, my current ecm works great but after all the good reviews of the Erik Buell Racing ecm i saved some money and decided to see if it's so good

If you want to do it *right*...that's exactly what you have to do.

A new ECM ships with a NULL value, not a "wrong" zero value. You DO have to "tell it" where zero is the first time.

Sorry, I misunderstood your original post.

I've never done it, but if you are having difficulty with the TPS reset you should check that your throttle body is actually closing and not jammed or gunked up.

Pontlee, on an 06 it is also good to check the tps sending unit to make sure it's at zero and there is spring tension on the shaft pin. Once that is done then do as described above and set both ecm's to zero. Here is a link to a thread about it. Treadmarks was the originator and I just added some pictures;

Thanks to everything one who has replied always so helpful.
In respect to my throttle body is an 07 the shaft on my 06 broke and it in perfect condition it may have around 5000/6000 miles if that.

I finally took a spin with the new ecm, it feels a bit different still need to make some more miles on it to notice if there is any major difference, just need to say that the old ecm had the maps made by Al from American Sport Bike and touched up a bit by a friend, so it was really close to perfect.
Just I want to say that the maps for a D&D are way different from a stock race map.

Al's maps are fantastic to start with, so short a custom tune for your specific bike, it is hard to improve upon.

It was a good investment buying Al's maps saved me a lot of work and my friend only needed to do a few small touches now i can either ecm as both are quite similar.
