The Victory has a higher domestic content than any other bike - at least, last I looked. Of course, Polaris is off to Mexico. Soon, you will see machine gun mounts on all Polaris products.

Without your word, there is nothing but a shell. Mine is costing me something today. I will not consider any other option. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Gotta go.

Court,

Please understand, this is not an assault on your generation. And I do not believe all BB’ers are bad. In fact most are honorable men and women, who’s word is good.

However, an awful lot of those Baby Boomers were part of the "If it feels good, do it crowd." Had a lot of indiscriminate sex, had lots of kids out of wedlock, snorted massive amounts of coke, and generally gave birth to and raised a generation of kids in sick, sick dysfunctional families and households. There are a whole lot of Baby Boomers that have no honor, break their word, and whose ethics consist of I got mine, F-you. Being a child of those kind of wonderful BB’ers and living in some violently abusive F-up households, I could be considered jaded, and not representative of my generation. But for millions I am. And that’s the sad fact. At 35 it has only been the last 3-4 years that I’ve been able to put my hate for my parents, and many of their(your) generation behind me. Many of my peers that grew up like I did, have not been as lucky or fortunate. The blinding hypocrisy of our parents has turned too many hearts cold. This is not meant as an excuses or “poor me/us”, in any way. Many of my generation refuse to accept responsibility for our or any actions, and that is on us, period. But the facts of the examples we were given are all too real.

Things are bad now. Real bad. But it’s the BB’ers who raised my generation(X). A generation, 1/4 or more of which have grown up pissed and jaded, taking their cues from mommy and daddy dearest, and are now churning out the next generation even more pissed and F’d in the head. Marilyn Manson’s tee shirt was very telling: This is your world in which we grow and we will grow to hate you… http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/grow-to-hate -you-marilyn-manson-t-shirt-xl

With all that is going on in this country, what kind of hope do we share with our young people? What kind of hope and future do we have to show them, and motivate them to push forward? To not only succeed, but succeed the right way, without putting down and destroying their fellow man. And even if that motivation could be found and shown, so many do not know what the “right way” is. The concept of doing the next right thing has been lost to so many of mine and the latest generation. There is a Massive amount of fixing, changing, and learning we as a people have to undergo for any hope of this nation surviving. And the BB’ers are rapidly running out of time to be a part of the solution, to a problem they have a huge part in creating.

Oh and my Gramps, the one who fought in the Pacific, he was a hell of a character. Set a hell of an example as well. Remind me to tell you sometime…

Scooter,

You have a good point, and somewhat valid argument. However, you average less than 100 post per year, put some work in before you tell others what to do. There has been lots of "wondering" of topics on this board, I find you chiming in here, at this point, not a coincidence. And if I had given a thumbs up to Courts comment on BB'ers, would you still have bitched about keeping this section for motorcycle discussion only? In two threads I have read your comments in, you seem to be showing a pattern of not liking either myself, the truth, or an opinion not in-line with yours. Perhaps all three.

The last time you commented on something I wrote, you inaccurately assumed I wanted to get in line to shot you, and welcomed me to "bring it". Never bothering to apologize, when this was shown to be incorrect. This is telling in an individual. If you choose not to go to the quick board, that's your choice. Nobody is saying you can't, or preventing you from doing so except yourself.

While I'm am sure you won't, I think you need to drink a nice frosty mug of STFU. And as you know: If you start drinking in the morning, you can drink all day.

Cheers

Yeah, those were the days my friends, we thought they'd never end, etc., etc., etc.

I especially miss all that "indiscriminate sex".

Oh Well!

Y yo tambien.

And . . . left out "the most educated and industrious generation and the greatest economic expansion in the history of the county".

Perhaps . . . as I think back . . no unrelated to the indiscriminate sex.

OK,

I apologize in advance.

Edited, mostly deleted. I can't believe I get so worked up over cr@p on the internet.

This, coming from Mr. "Who needs Edge-u-macation," means a lot to me.

Geezemareeze, I just remarked that something was missing from airbox covers since they removed "American Motorcycles". I didn't expect to cause a riot.

Way to go Electraglider_1997!

Actually, I was considering buying the "American Motorcycles" emblems to install on my 08 XT. Now I'm glad I didn't ask.

I think the real reason for the "American Motorcycles" tag line was to inform people that Buell was indeed an "American Motorcycles" motorcycle.

I think a lot of people didn't know Buell was built here, by HD.

It seems that about 90% of the people I meet here in SE MN have never even heard of a Buell. I have had to explain it so many times that I am thinking of having cards made up with a brief explanation and just hand one to them to read at their convenience.

I have a nice pic of my XT as a screen saver at work and almost everyone that sees it for the first time says "Wow, nice bike! What is it?"

IT WASN'T.

HD wrote the checks in the end. But...

BUELL WAS BUILT BY BUELL.

That’s akin to saying GM doesn't build Chevys - Chevy builds Chevys.

Buell was a division of HD - HD built Buell’s and when they were done with Buell, HD pulled the plug...NOT Buell. Buell’s fate was always (after HD bought it) in HD's hands.

Who do you think built all the air-cooled engines? Buell? No, that would be HD. Eric's team assembled the bikes under HD's guidance and parameters.

Do you really think that Erik was the driving force behind the Blast. That would be HD.

How much latitude they gave Erik is moot - Buell was an HD division, owned and fully controlled by HD. HD proved that in Oct. '09

When Erik sold it to HD, it became part of HD.

Yeah, GM builds Chevys.

And if you walk up to any Buell owner and ask "what's Badweather bikers?" . . you will generally get a blank stare.

It's the reason we sometimes can't generalize beyond our own range of vision without knowing the constraints.

Hahahahahaha . . you should have seen what it was like in 1988 ! !

Point taken about baby boomers. I am a BB. A combat disabled Vietnam Vet. I raised 4 kids, all college educated good citizens. I don't hate my selfish, slacker, liberal protester friends. Hating any group is a dark unhealthy road.
Those kids didn't go there on there own. They were led or misled that way. Be a leader, be good, do the right thing, make a difference, however small. You might not change anybody but yourself. That's plenty.
