I just installed the Erik Buell Racing ECM on my bike when I was going to do the TPS reset on the ECM Spy the values were zero, I wonder if the reset cant be done with the ecm spy, as with the other ecm's i had there was no problem at all the bike is a 2006 with a D&D.

Thanks Folks.

Yes it can be done with ECMspy, it works the exact same way as doing it with the stock and P&A Race ECM.

The US spec bikes don't have side switches, so it was probably never enabled.

Be careful using ECMspy with an Erik Buell Racing Race ECM.

In fact, don't. I tried to reset my TPS with ECMspy and my Erik Buell Racing Race ECM and ECMspy corrupted my Race ECM.

Straight from Erik Buell Racing itself, about 10 minutes ago:

"NEVER use ECM Spy with our ECM's. We have had huge issues with this software modifying incorrect addresses in the ECM. We have different firmware in our ECM from the old Buell ECM."

So what's the correct procedure? Reset with the stock ecm then exchange it for the Erik Buell Racing ecm?

Did not know that would happen. Good thing I have an '09. Key on, ignition on, 3 slow twists of the throttle, key off = TPS reset.

Yep . . . I suppose it is a common issue as Erik Buell Racing was quick to inform me.

You have to take the 07 and older bikes to the dealer for the TPS reset unless you have the other software (forgot the name). Do not use ECMspy.

Which is interesting, I've personally done a TPS reset on a DDFI2 bike with Erik Buell Racing ECM and ECMspy and it worked perfect. I know VDSTS will do it too, I've seen it done on Ulynuts bike.

Did it with the ecm spy, worked perfect, the difference compared to Al's maps + my friend touch up, is not a big difference,

Froggy one question i put to zero my old ecm, and did the reset on the Erik Buell Racing one, so if i was to change back to the old ecm, the values would be fine or i would need to do a reset on it?

Thanks.

Glad to hear it has worked perfectly for both of you.

This was not the case for me, and per an email from Erik Buell Racing (copied below), it is advised to not use ECMspy with the Erik Buell Racing Race ECMs. Therefore, I just wanted to pass along the warning. They "elves" are gracious enough that they are going to reprogram my ECM for me.
