So I do the Western States 1000 every year and thought I would share some pics from this weekend.

I started on Friday from Seattle down to Portland via every back road there is. 330 miles in 7 hours.

Stayed in Portland and left at 4:30 Sat morning.

The route sent us to Salem then over the pass through Redmond and over to John Day. Thats my my friends's 02 Ducati ST4s, weve done the 1000 since 2001.

We dropped down from John Day and rode some amazing roads over another pass down to Burns. We got ahold of a Go Pro camera from one of my buddy's friends and mounted it on the headlight of the Duc.

We hit some pretty good swarms of mosquitos where my buddy had to stop to clean his visor...thanks palmer brackets!

We rode down to Roseburg where we stayed the night. 710 miles in 14 hours.
Out of 110 riders we got in 9th and 10th. (of course this was not a race)
This is a pic from the hotel at 6:00 Sunday morning before we left for day two.

The route had us cruise Hwy 101 up the Oregon coast up to Newport, where we turned off and headed West through some really cool rural roads.

Rode back into Portland and I went back up to Seattle. 545 miles in 12 hours.

Great trip as always. Uly kicks ass. Always fun passing all the Goldwings and Harleys. Not one other Buell or Duc. Did see a cool 01/02 Aprilla Futura and an old Royal Enfieldmaking the trip.

Total mileage was 1585.

Terrific! I always enjoy ride pics and movies, especially when it's the bike's POV that's showing in the movie.

Thanks.

Thanks for sharing the pics. Was this an Iron Butt 1000 miles in 24 hours ride?

Man I love that video! I kept catching myself tilting my head to one side or the other as we went through the curves. Wish I was there, not here at this dumb desk!

Dynasport - two day 1000 mile ride. I added 500+ miles for the extra trip to and from Seattle to Portland.

Motorbike - Totally!

450 miles tomorrow for a trip to train my new menu items for the Portland restaurants. Should be over 2000 miles in 5 days...

Some nice Uly photos. Good video, but saddened to see the chemtrailed sky as you swept onward and upward.

Awesome.

How did the Duc fair against the Uly?

Dmmblaze - The Ducati has 117 hp and 72 lb torque.
It is a sweet bike. My friend says he can set it up in a corner and it keeps the line with very little rider input and the bike behaves very well all around. Very fast and sounds awesome.

That said, I can leave him behind, but only in the tight twisties where the Buell 's torque out performs the Duc.

Both bikes are fairly closely matched under 100 mph.

...oh and I dont have to pay $1000 every 6000 miles for valve adjustments.

Nice pics and enjoyed the ride report.

"...oh and I dont have to pay $1000 every 6000 miles for valve adjustments."

I lust in my heart for those ducs but those valve adjustments are like a car payment...no thanks!

I think the Ducs are up to 12,000 miles on the latest models.
