Making a run to home depot today and while passing thru Pellston MI on my way to Petoskey I spy a uly with a window air conditioner strapped on the passenger seat, not sure how its powered or how the duct work is laid out but looks like a cure for sure.

... serioulsy?
i remember seeing a 12V ac unit that could be strapped onto teh back seat,
and ducted the cool air up under the rider's jacket. just seemed like a silly idea that would not work out all that well in reality

Will it vacuum out the bugs, dirt, and grime as well?

How would it vacuum anything? It is a peltier with cooling fan, it does not provide any suction in any form.

It would look funny on a uly because you would need to stick the hose in your paints : )

Towpro,

How is the 800GS treating you? You liking it? Good to see you pop in! : )

Loving it. After spending my whole life on Dirt Bikes the 800 (with the 21" front wheel) feels perfect to me.

But the Uly was paid for. I have a side business to pay for my toys, and there are times the customers make me wish I still had the Uly because then I could just walk away from their BS : )

Why not just get a medical system that pumps ice water through a vest with hoses in it?

Ourdee, do you have a link to one of these? Or somewhere I can do some research?

still need a heat sink. but a tubed vest would be a better heat transfer medium than a bulky hose that looks like it was ganked from an old vacuum cleaner.
i remember when my big brother tore his ACL and got to take home this spiffy knee-cooling thing-a-ma-jig. one of the connections busted, leaked all over the couch and he overdosed on vicodin before my mom woke up re-connected it and re-filled the coolant. his meds were put up high after that.

Thermoelectric cooling is also an option. less efficient than the conventional refrigeration cycle, but is super-compact, and it would only have wire leads to connect.

That looks interesting, I think I am going to pick that up. It hit 85° here today, I nearly passed out while on the slab.

I would try to build one before paying that kind of money.

1- 12V pump. Something made for 100% running like small fuel pump.

X' of vinyl hose.
2 quick connectors as found on some Camel backs (would have to look, but I know I have seen them.)

Use a jacket like was used to make the home made electric jackets.

Lay out several loops in a 6 pack cooler and throw in some ice.

Better yet, the top case on a ULY would work for long hot days and I bet the ice would last long enough that the beer would still be cold at the end of the day :: )
