Decided to spend the Memorial Day weekend in Arkansas. I had to rush some since I just picked the bike(Mule)up from having a new ECM installed. Did a quick mod to create a spacer and bent the mounting tab. Everything looked good so I was off. I selected my favorite route that includes the Talimena drive over to Mount Magazine and into Ozark. A few miles South of Ozark, on 309, I came across a scene where a Tornado had crossed 309.
The East side of the road is lined with huge trees. These were laid over, torn up, and stripped of leaves. Beyond were the remains of houses some destroyed others looked un-touched. Pictures don't do justice to the power of these storms.

Destruction on 309

Day 2 was spent enjoying the roads around central Arkansas. Highway 23 know as the 'Pig Trail,’ 16, 74, etc. There are no bad roads in this part of the state. Five miles north of Clarksville on 21 is the small town of Ozone and home of the 'Ozone Burger Barn.' This is a great place to stop, relax (fountain waterfall) eat a burger or drink a malt and watch the bikes, 4wheelers, cars, etc come and go.

Day 3 was spent kayaking on the Mulberry River. Conditions were perfect for some whitewater and a fellow rider decided to join in the fun. He was a novice to kayaking and had a little trouble with target fixation, the targets being the rocks. It was a nice break from riding and I highly recommend this activity if you like water activities.

Day 4 was the return home to Dallas day. On the North side of Mt. Magazine is Cove Lake and is best viewed in the early morning. On the south side of this lake nestled in the trees is a small park and an excellent spot to camp out for the night. If you have the opportunity to visit and ride Arkansas I highly recommend it.

Nice report! Thanks for sharing.

Need to figure out how to post pics on this computer and get our RR done on our recent GA/NC/TN trip.

Glad your Uly is well. Seems we had similar ECM issues about the same time, good to hear that your dealer took care of you as well.

Those were some violent storms. Mother nature really unleashed her wrath. Those poor people.

Pretty country over there. We'd love to come check that area out some time. B.
