I pulls up outside a shop and as I get off the bike I notice a MASSIVE oil slick under the bike. Instant XB/Buell "its gone bad" panic sets in. After looking over the bike I figure out that I have parked on a oil leak from someone else.

I felt a little bad about my negative trust in the bike. I know it well and it was not like anything should be a problem but the idea that it could still seems to be there in the back of my mind. Just human nature I guess.

Back when I had a Japanese bike, my friend thought it was funny to pour some rice under my bike and tell me it was leaking. It really had me worried.

That's a natural instinct (to check) and response (to cuss) for those that ride non-Hinckley Brit iron for any length of time.

When I was riding my XLH to work, A friend of mine pointed out that it was leaking badly.
It always leaked a bit but there was a large puddle!
On closer inspection, I was relieved to find that it wasn't my bike's at all.
The reason I knew so easily?
The puddle of oil was clean and not baked black!

I tired of the BMW snobs when I started riding my M2. Seemed like every where I rode on sundays they were under foot busting on the M2 for being harley sweepings. So one sunday I left the diner a little quicker than they did. the oil heads got the oil on the cylinder head treatment and the water coolers got the coolant dripping from the neither regions dose of coolant. You could smell the coolant it was pretty warm. I rode away watching them pull covers looking for leaks loose clamps and checking oil levels. The coolant recipiant took his bike into BMW about the leak and got really pissy with them. Told the story about he was using another dealer 90 miles away now since the local guy didnt believe him . About 9 months later we did it too him again. He finally sold that leaking German junker! lol Now he has a Duc. Would marinara sauce be better than oil?

The coolant story reminds me of another mean but great gag, and homecoming's here soon! Cut off a screw head, scuff it up a bit so it looks "used" and a little black double-sided tape = instant ruined day!

That is funny! Unless the joke is on me, of course!
