A winter project that I am just getting around to posting.

I very seldom ride tandem and as cool as the triple tail is I never use it other than to move to get the seat off. I wanted a waterproof trunk that isn’t huge and thought that a pelican would be nifty. So after buying a Touratech tail rack did the following:

Made a little adapter out of 1/8 aluminum and then added some polysomething or other blocks with a threaded insert

I then attached the adapter to the tail rack which created two threaded attachment points to hold the trunk down

Next I added a stiffening plate made of another type plastic that provided a secure attachment for two locater blocks made out of polysomething –these keep the trunk from moving side to side, front to back, etc.

Finally a couple of threaded knobs to hold the trunk to the adapter, a little wedge of foam to make it sit right, and a yellow locking foam piece to prevent the knobs from backing out

Final looks like this

Looks nice! I've considered doing something similar because I rarely(never) ride two up and and would like to move that weight forward.

What bars are those and how do you like them?

I like it too. Pelican cases are top notch stuff. I absolutely DIG the "baby inside" sticker. Cheers.

IC - This setup does move weight forward but leaves enough room for a tent and kermit chair between my tuchus and the the pelican. Bars are Pro Taper Pastrana FMX, and I like them - a little higher and a different sweep from the stockers.

Which Pelican is this?

I have seahorse side cases and would like a matching topcase.
