Just got back from a night ride, 50 degree weather and when I pulled in the drive, my header pipes were glowing red. The bike is a 2006 with only 2000 miles. It's new to me, I've been a harley guy for 15 years. Is this normal to have the pipes this hot after a 30 minute ride?

I've seen them glow idling. They are made of stainless steel with no plating or coating.
In other words, they all do that!

How was it running? A lean condition would make it run hot.

4466. Yes normal. The engine is still very tight and will run hotter until 4-6k miles. Its no problem.

You should also find, if working right, that the fan runs a lot on a young engine. The fan will run less from 4-6k miles plus.

I've never seen my pipes glow.
