We'd like to ride out but need to know what exactly is going on to ride out to??? Where is everyone meeting and when?? Who's coming?
Inquiring minds want to know. Is Erik Buell Racing going to have another parking lot sale?

John,
Looks like I've got a whole bunch of posts to read. Sad that you and Terri will not be there as you had become a fixture of Buell Homecoming events. Hopefully again in the future, right?

Easy.

Plan on being at Buell at 10:00am on Thursday June 2nd. Plan on spending the day, and evening, in the East Troy area.

On Friday I think everyone will pretty much be headed toward Road America to watch the show.

There seem to be, at this time, plenty of rooms in the East Troy area . . . that's a no brainer. And, I had no problem making reservations in Elkhart Lake for Friday and Saturday night. There are many hotels covering the entire spectrum.

See ya there!

By the way . . by the time you get to the factory the 9 year old should have Ourdee and Team all lined out and ready to go.

I'm with you Craig...trying to figure out where to be and when. I got the 10 am on the 2nd down...but I'm still trying to figure out the whole where to stay thing. It's always more fun staying in the same hotel with other Buellers, but I don't see where anyone is naming their hotel. If it's a secret...can someone PM me with the inside scoop. : )

I'm still trying to figure out my total plans... I may try to talk my son into going with me (on the second Uly). Sean graduates high school next month...I am thinking it might be our last chance to do a road trip together. Plus it would be a great opportunity to redeem our homecoming 2008 experience. ; )

There are a host of places in the East Troy area.

Last year many folks stayed at:

Alpine Valley Resort
W2501 County Road D
Elkhorn, WI 53121
262-642-7374 • 800-227-9395

The place is still closed for the season but should be easy to find a place. It's a few miles out of East Troy but easily accessible. There has been concerns about possible conflicts (the only thing they have scheduled so far is the East Troy Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing the following Wednesday) but that should be easy to deal with. The place has been purchased by concert promoter Live Nation and they don't even list Alpine Valley on their "suggested places to stay" list so I'm not seeing that as a problem. It's cheap, easily accessible and works great.

There are places right in East Troy as well.

That'd get you covered for Thursday night . .

Friday . . I think everyone is heading to Road America. I've got a room at a place in Elkhart Lake and in typical spring break fashion we're piling 32 folks into a room with sleeping bags . . .

There are also a host of places within reasonable distance and I'd defer to one of the locals for suggestions.

I need, next, to set about arranging hospitality for Buell owners at the Road America race track. I looked into renting a couple 53' luxury buses but am now thinking of a pickup load of Styrofoam coolers with water, soda and so forth.

My thinking is as long as we have a common place to gather . . . we'll have a grand ol' time.

It'd be GREAT to see you and Sean again!

Just keep wild man Sean off the track and everything will be just fine.

You're asking me to sign off on your driving and pulling a trailer instead of riding a motorcycle to Homecoming?

Take today's newspaper . . roll it up . . and smack yourself briskly upside the head! !

What are you, nuts?

Ride the bike . . bring your ass to East Troy and have a good time!

I have a friend who has a pickup truck I can borrow. The committee meets again later this week and I'm hoping to delegate some of that . . .

But . .seriously . . thanks for the offer and I may recruit a couple folks (depending on the status of Erik's kids and summer activities) to help me get stuff gathered up and hauled to Road America.

Well, the fun riding happens up there. There is nothing fun about the expressways around Chicago - but it's a lot cheaper riding the bike! I'll be up there Wed 6/1 - staying at Alpine Valley.
