I'm looking to pick up a used tiger So i have something to ride while my Uly remains in the shop, just curious how they compare to the Uly. I know the 955i motor is sweet, had it on my old s3.I tried a wee strom for a few months but found it boring.
Thanks

My buddy had an 06. Put 20K on it before he was road raged at a stop light and had it totaled out. Guy ramed him from the rear and smashed the bike between the car in front. He had jumped off 2 seconds before.

Only issue he ever had was the rear sprocket bearings went south with NO warning. Sound familier? AHhahaaaaaa.

It would out run my 2004 Strom top end if I had the bags on. Very smooth and fun bike!

I'm fortunate - have both 08 Uly & 06 Tiger. "Tigertriple.com" is a good site to review Tigers + & -, & aquaint oneself with quirks. All bikes have 'em. The 06 models were upgraded from the earlier "Girlie" models - 1050 Head, cases, (not sure about 05) swingarm, breather routing, tank fittings, cast wheels etc. Tiger is a very reliable machine - the 955 triple is a seriously solid performer - particularly with TOR exhaust & ECU remap. AND...TKCs will slip right on. Tiger is different - but good choice, if you've decided to replace Uly.

Picked up the bike Tuesday in Seattle, got a late start and made it to Pendleton or, weds was crappy weather, snow going over the mtns, and high winds / rain ,had to stop in Burley id. Thurs I had good weather and rode into salt lake city. I'm shipping the bike from here , just crappy weather across the country. Now that I discovered foward air I am doing more fly and rides.Love the triple motor ,nice power and ride @ 90+ on the highway. I'm not replacing the Ulysses just adding to the stable.

Dave

Dave - you picked up A fine addition to the Uly. Yeah - weather weird everywhere. I've had to reroute & postpone several trips this year - hoping to get to Reno next week - we'll see. Enjoy the Tiger. j
