hey I'm from the great white north and am traveling to florida on vacation. Can you guys make some "realistic" suggestions on spare parts to pick up for my bike. Its a 2009 XB12X. Parts seem a bit limited and double the price up here. Perhaps some recommended shops We will be in and near Orlando

This would be my top 3:

1. Belt- install the new belt at home and save your old belt as a spare. Used belt is easier to install road-side if required.

2. Rear wheel bearings- you can get off-the-shelf replacements at almost any bearing house, but it wouldn't hurt to have your own.

3. Copy of the BRAN: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/boar d-auth.cgi?file=/42/42.html&lm=1299202159

Check things thoroughly before you leave (clutch cable & throttle cables) and you should be OK.

What he ^^^ said. Maybe a Slime compressor and a tire plug kit. I use the ropes, saved the day more than once, never had one fail.

Belt, bearings, tire plug kit, and some sort of roadside assistance plan in the event you need a tow. I don't know if you can get it Canada, but the AMA plans are nice.

Belt
BLACK seal wheelbearings (.02A8B part number)
maybe steering head bearings

and hell...I don't know how hard parts are to get up there, but get a handful of 11105 drain plug O-rings, a case of oil filters, and a half-dozen each of primary inspection and clutch inspection gaskets. That way you're covered for years' worth of regular maintenance, and you can keep the O-rings, clutch, and inspection gaskets in a baggie on the wall out of the way until you need them.

Jetranger,

I live about 20-30 mins north of Orlando.

There are very few dealerships in the Orlando area that were ever Buell friendly or could get (or have in stock) parts for what you want to do. Seminole H-D and Rossmeyers sold them but they currently have zero items in stock in the way of parts.

I believe Tampa Bay may have a better Buell-friendly dealership in Fletchers. I've never been there but have read some comments that they've tried to stay useful to Buell owners.

If you are coming down I-75 through Gainesville, the guys over there were heavily in to the Buell brand and some of them are active in other areas of BadWeb.

I can confirm for you that Seminole H-D, Orlando H-D aren't going to have much nor will Rossmeyers in Daytona. A parts guy at one of these three shops encouraged me to go to one of the other shops when I asked if they had (or could order) the fuel filter and pick-up screen. He said he just didn't want to have to deal with that hassle. He said "I send all of our Buell stuff to them.", ('them' being the other shop he encouraged me to check with).

In addition to the above recommendations, I would add a Buell specific tool kit. The one that is included with your bike leaves a lot to desire.

Jetranger2000. If your saying Buell specific parts you want to hand for normal biking then I would say belt, clutch cable and steering head bearings, maybe throttle cables and a starter relay, as these are OEM only and most of the time you will need to order them in. It is what I have done for the future.

Front pads are XB only so a couple sets like EBC in hand would help. Rear pads, wheel bearings, oil filters and fork seals are all easy to get hold of as not HD OEM.
