Buellers...my 09 muffler rusting pretty good. Warrantee til July this year. Wondering if I should just coat/paint this one or get a new one and somehow have it coated before replacing? Is there a preferred ceramic or other coating that will last me the next 20 years of Ulying? Euly

I wouldn't bother.
Just ride it.
Some here have had good luck with barbecue/stove paint.

I of course just ignore it.

Get it replaced under warranty then take the new one and get it coated before it has a chance to rust. : )

Or get a nice stainless pipe from D_adams.

yeah, a quality ceramic coat job won't cost more than $50, especially on a new muffler

They replaced my rusty muffler under warranty.

I had the new one ceramic coated for $100.

Rusty muffler means it's being ridden like it should be. That's some thick steel to worry about rusting through. Seems frivolous to warranty a rusty muffler.

The muffler will rust even sitting a box on the shelf. Happened to mine. Does it hurt functionality? No, but it looks like total crap. If you can, get HD to pay up for a new pipe. Don't lose sleep over it though.

Just paint it without removing it. A new one will be no better and you'd have some nut-jockey who cares nothing for your bike putting it on.

He hand makes them, he just ordered a whole bunch of materials to make a whole bunch of XB mufflers, it similar to the Drummer SS in terms of looks. I got one of the 1125 versions on my CR.

Thanks all. Is Dean's muffler identical to stock then with same internals? Euly
