Well , it looks like its my turn to troubleshoot my bike.

I went to leave for work this morning and when I tried to start it it "no would start".

Since the day I bought it there has been a sleight hesitation in the starter when the engine makes its first full compression of a cylinder. It has always "pushed" through that compression stroke and then it kicks over and starts. This morning however, when it hit that sleight hesitation the was a little pop and she died, no lights, no nothing, dead as a door nail.
I'm thinking its a fuse, but I guess I need to check the 77 connector and battery also.

The bad part was that I didn't have time to check anything and just pushed it back into the garage and took the wifey's bike.

What do you think, sound like a good plan of attack to start with checking those things?

I see you have a 2006, as I do.
Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. I replaced the battery. Seems these batteries have reached their life span... pretty darn good service at that!

Check and clean your battery terminals too. That would be the first place I check.

Turn the key to the "ON" position.

Put a jumper cable from a fully charged 12v battery. Your car battery will work fine.

If the bike starts and the hesitation is gone...bingo!

Turn the key to the "ON" position

In the immortal words of Curly "nyuck, nyuck, nyck".

I just bought a new battery last fall and ride throughout the year so I REALLY hope thats not it...or on second thought, maybe I hope it is the battery since its still under warranty.

That is EXACTLY what my lightning did last week. It's your battery.

I've got Piglet making a visit tonight as a layover so I may not be able to troubleshoot it, we'll see.

Battery will deffo be the first place to start. It was a cheepie from a battery source or some other battery store (have to check my receipt).

Thanks all, I'll let you know.

You guys nailed it....its the battery

I hooked it up to the truck and everything lit up and it would click the starter but not crank....just like others described.

I'll be getting a new battery tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice and help.
