Picked up a Shorai. Not for the Uly (replaced that battery a few months ago), but for my 1982 BMW R100rs. The Shorai about 1/6th of the size of the stock battery and represents a 17lb weight savings.

The outgoing battery is an Odyssey. The Odyssey lasted 6 years but has been on charger support for the past year or so. The Odyssey weighed the same as stock, but was 1/2 of the size.

To tell you the truth, I really did not think that the Shorai could work. It is SO MUCH lighter, it felt like a toy. In fact though, the bike cranks up quite readily.

The BMW is no longer a daily rider, sitting a week or more at a time now. We will see how it holds up.
