About 4 times in the last half year I have been riding and my engine light comes on and the engine cuts out for maybe a second. Then the bike goes on like everything is right. Not a big deal at the time but something to worry about I guess. This may have been covered in the archives but I could not find it. I have a 06 Uly with 34,000 miles. Anyone else experience this?

I had a similar problem on my 09 and it was the bank angle sensor.

I believe that was a recall on my year bike that was taken care of awhile back. Could be a problem again.

The bank angle sensor was moved to a new location under the recall, but the sensors still do occasionally go bad. Usually though, if the BAS trips the bike dies, you turn it off and back on, and then it will start. Not sure a bad BAS would cause a momentary loss of power like you describe.

This has happened to my '08 Uly also. When it happened and I was still rolling I hit the red "on-off" switch to "off" then immediately back to "on" and the bike re-started and I went on my way. I did get a "check engine" light also but it went out after cycling the switch. I've done this 3 times and it worked each time. This is kind of unnerving because if it happens at the wrong time it could cause an accident. I wonder if dis-abling the BAS cures this problem?

Yes, if flipping the kill switch off then on fixes it, it's almost certainly a bad BAS. IIRC, a new one is ~$30 or so and it's pretty easy to access and change out.

I do agree with Hughlysses i had that problem with the BAS..........tard, it would die hot or cold, fast or slow in straight roads or twisties, it was an erratic failure.
