You're right! But I need both feet to back up, or when parking around other more expensive bikes! ;o) BTW I have 28 inch inseam... JC |

Yeah, the backing up is 100% impossible since I added a tall seat to my XT. I'm not above (no pun intended) getting off the bike and pushing it around though. As for swapping suspension, I'd be more than happy to swap if I could find available parts and a willing "X" owner. The extra ride height would be nice, and I think the X suspension would handle my abuse better than the XT has so far. I'm constantly off road with it, had to rebuild the forks after only 7000 miles. I'd want to swap out the shock and forks both though, which would also require swapping my 43mm triples for someone's 47mm triples. Sorry for the off topic discussion To make up for it, I'll mention that if any of you looking to lower your X are interested in the low seat, I'll sell mine. It's the seat that came stock on my 09 XT. Was planning on keeping it around but I could use the money. It's not the prettiest thing.. after all my off road adventures, it is a little stained from this oklahoma red clay. |

I agree with the guy that said machine one up yourself. The spacer is just a chunk of aluminum, an easy mill job in this age of computer aided billet work. I think anyone could run off a bunch. Those MIZU guys are a little smarmy, I don't like calling them up. |

I switched the stock spring on an 06 for a blue one from an XB9 on the stock shock. gained maybe an inch. If anyone makes that lowering collar I'd be interested in buying one. |

I could be "inspired" by the existing design. If someone is interested in going in with me, let me know. FYI,I'm an engineer with some connections to get these machined. I would draw a similar design and have them quoted. If we get some people interested, I'll buy one and start the process. I'm not looking to make a mint, just don't want to get burned on them. I'd estimate we'll need to make 10 at minimum to make it economical for all. Like I mentioned, if your interested, let me know. |

I'm interested if it will workout on the XB12XT shock. I don't see why it wouldn't but I hate to assume... |

Hi Guys. I am from Ireland. Great forum. I have a 2006 Ulysses. I have done most of the mods recommended here on Badweb.I love the Uly, the best fun bike I have ever ridden.Being 5'6" with a 30" inseam I have come close to losing it a few times.I have put on a lower XT seat which helped a lot and tonight I installed the Mizu lowering collar. A quick spin around the yard and a couple of U-turns and it is much better than it was, it is possible to flat foot on one side at a time without looking like an idiot. I will let you know how it handles at high speed when I get a chance, probably the weekend. By the way I am 147lbs. |

Hey there Mculy, What Mizu lowering collar did you order? I didn't see one on the website and after contacting them, they said they didn't make one for the Uly. I assume you ordered one for a different model. Cheers. |

Hi Guys. I am from Ireland. Dhia Dhuit, Mculy, it's good to see a fellow Irishman on here! I've also got an '06 Uly and come from Sligo originally but I've lived in western Pennsylvania since the late '80's. Sla/n, Jesse |

I bought it from www.twinmotorcycles.nl. Here is a link to their shop. The photos show a picture of the kit fitted to a Uly. http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp? guid=YXHFSC&aid=3226&cid=0&s=lowering&a= Hi Jesse. hows it goin. I hope you are getting on well over there. Strange times over here in Ireland. Bit like the eighties except we owe a lot more money. At least the bikes keep us sane. McUly. |

Sorry guys, I tried the link and it worked earlier. Go to twinmotorcycles.nl and search for "lowering" in the search box and it will lead you to the page with the photos. Here is a photo of mine fitted.

Things are going well, my kids were born in the Rotunda in Dublin but grew up here so this place is "home" for me now. I catch a bit of Pat Kenny on the internet every morning before I leave for work, changed times indeed! I'm sure the numbers are still pretty small but I know a few guys in Sligo who got Harleys during the boom...never even saw one in the flesh when I was young. Are there many Buells there? An old friend of mine (Guzzi, BMW owner) has never seen one. Jesse |

Just an update... We're at 12 spacers. I'd like to get a solid 15(prefer 20) before I start. The programming for the CNC will be much more reasonable to split it up. |

I'd be in for one, two if it would work on a Super TT. I think they would be the same. Price could make a difference tho. Murf |

For anyone that is interested, have just got back from 200km ride, first decent spin with lowering ring. 100% pleased, no noticeable difference in handling at any speed or road condition over stock setup. Also because back end is lower it feels like I am sitting in the bike rather than on it.Very nice. |

Took the wife out for a nice dinner and explained the situation. She's a motorcycle chick, let alone she's an engineer too, so it was easy for her to understand. So, I'm going to being designing a spacer. When I get something to look at, I'll post some pics and start the pre-orders. My plan is to have them for sale before riding season starts, at least for us cold weather buellers! |

Nice bike Old Buzzard, don't see many Buells on the roads here in Ireland even though I'm sure there were a few sold. Some UKBEG members are coming over for the Cookstown races at the end of April, maybe we could meet up. I haven't seen more than two Buells together at any one time and I am looking forward to it. The lowering ring is a great idea especially if you have the early model with the bad steering lock. It gives me that extra bit of control that's needed for slow speed maneuver's without effecting the handling. |

yep, races sounds good,I hope to be there, and the lowering ring is a good idea, especially if you're vertically challenged like me |

I'll add you to the list Clang. To update everyone, I don't have any cost or project updates. I've been buried this week at work and not had time to get it out for quotes. I'll update everyone when I have info Thx |
