thinking about swapping mine ('09 XP) out for one with 5000 miles, is it a direct swap?
The gearing it just too tall for off-slab riding in my opinion.

I have 9 gearing in my XB12 Lightning,
Direct swap.
you need the front (engine) sprocket and the chain, the clutch basket is the same between the 9 and the 12.

I did mine at like 20k miles so I put a new tensioner in there while it was open but I really didnt need to. Real easy, did it in a weekend.

Makes a world of diferance for low idle and makes 1st and 2nd gear wheelies even easyier.

Wolf is correct. Check it out on American Sport Bike. The kits are different for 08-10 than 06-07.

Thanks for the warning guys, I wasn't even aware the cranksize was different...
Anyoe have one from an 08+ lying around?

my bad, didnt realize the new crank may a difference on the sprockets.
