Does anyone know of a source and or part number/mfg of seals for the rear wheel bearings. I added some grease to mine during my last tire change and may have nicked a seal. I would like to pull the wheel, pop in a seal and go since the bearing were fine. | ||

I assume we are worrying about the old style bearing seal. Just smear Permatex anti-seize over the outside of the seal and bearing and you can do it with the wheel in place on the bike. I've actually got holes in my seals from removing them with a dental pick and that was 25,000 miles ago. The silver colored anti-seize does a great job of protecting the bearings from water, dirt, etc. Don't sweat a nick in the seal. | ||

EG, normally I would agree but I think I may have nicked the portion of the seal that rides on the inner race. I probably pushed a little too much grease into the bearings and some of it came out today during a freeway run. Hopefully it wont continue to seep out and I can ignore it. Thanks for the info just the same. | ||

If you are really concerned and don't want to do the anti-seize thing then just buy a bearing and you'll have two seals to work with. Folks here complain about corrosion on the outside of the bearings. Once per season I remove the wheels and when I wipe off the never-seize the bearings always look brand new. Kid you not. | ||

Help! Any suggestions for good quality wheel bearings for my 08 Uly, I replaced rear tire today and bearings are not as smooth as they once were. I know for sure a few of you out there have some good ideas thanks in advance karlsbad | ||
